When I first shared this card with my club members, one of them said “Harley colors are black and orange." LOL!! It seems that somebody wasn’t listening too well!! The real reason I called this a Harley card is because it reminds me of the first Harley I rode, a black and gold “Gold Wing Four.” Featuring the affection collection stamp set…. my card is black and gold with a tiny punched silver heart and metallic brads, quite similar to that motorcycle from the early 1980’s. The wings were stamped onto very vanilla card stock using versa mark ink, then covered with gold embossing powder before heat embossing. The center motif is made up of a die cut oval (brushed gold card stock) using the big shot die-cutting machine and ovals collection Framelits Dies.
Next, I embossed and fussy cut (pewter embossing powder) the central image from the affection collection stamp set. Hoping this stamp set is carried over when the new 2013-14 catalog is released… it’s so much fun to work with! Brads were positioned around the oval die cut using the Occasions Paper Piercing templates found on page 27 of the spring mini catalog… I left two spaces between each brad, but should have opted to pierce every other hole as the template has an even number of holes around this particular oval template.
Brushed Gold card stock was crimped twice… turning the card stock 90 degrees to achieve a waffle pattern… kind of fun isn’t it?
The tiny scalloped greeting covers an area where the brads got a bit closer than they should have, LOL!!
I hope today’s card inspires you to combine unusual colors and embossing powders for a really WOW card :) And, of course, hope you liked today’s card share too!
See you tomorrow as I resume regular blog posts… Thanks a bunch for stopping by!
