Universally Appealing CAS Birthday Card

Today’s universally appealing clean and simple birthday card is another one made with my Jim Fortuna Senior Stampers.

LOL.. I’m calling today’s card share ‘Universal’ because the colors and format are appropriate as a masculine card… but doesn’t have to be!  The Crumb Cake, Gumball Green and Very Vanilla combination is suitable for either, right?11214seniorstamperscasguycardslf  The stamp sets featured on today’s Happy Birthday card are “The Open Sea” and “Bring On The Cake”.  Ink and card stock colors:  Gumball Green, River Rock, Very Vanilla, Naturals Ivory and Crumb Cake.

As you scroll to the next photo… I know you’re going to ask about the tag corners and punched top edge.  The corners were cut using a hand made template…. I just eyeball it and cut an angle that seemed appropriate, then flipped it upside down to align on the other side… works like a dream!2_seniorstamper1s1214guycardImages from “The Open Sea” were stamped in river rock and gumball green ink onto the Naturals Ivory card stock… and edges were dragged through the ink pad to darken them.

The 1/2” circle punched gumball green card stock was attached to the top of the tag after the images were stamped… after gluing in place using multipurpose liquid adhesive, the center was punched out using a crop-a-dile tool and tied with a double strand of linen thread. 3_christmasdspreusedintagborder A narrow strip of “Be Of Good Cheer” (yes… that’s Christmas Paper on a birthday card!!:) was punched using the scallop border punch and added to the bottom edge of the stamped and inked tag.

Only the lower edge of 5-1/4” x 4” crumb cake card stock was run through the big shot die-cutting machine and embossed using the square lattice textured impressions embossing folder.  By feeding the loose end of the card stock through the big shot machine first, a crimp in the card stock was avoided.4.birthdaysentimentgumballgreenink A scrap of retired Beau Chateau designer series paper found a useful place on the birthday focal collage… and Happy Birthday was stamped onto very vanilla card stock to brighten up the color palette.

Today’s card could be changed up easily into other colors… red, white and blue comes to mind :)  Hope you enjoyed it!

Great colors for any season or gender with this card. I especially like the background image on your tag - really pretty! ((hugs))

Sharon, I love the design and colours of this card. The perfect 'universal' card in any colour - but I still prefer the green.
