Snowflake Season & 12 Weeks of Christmas

Snowflake Season is a Simply Scrappin’ Layout kit which may be found on page 21 of the current holiday Mini Catalog.  The kit includes all the supplies needed to create two fabulous 12x12 scrapbook pages as shown in the photo.

I originally purchased the kit to put it together exactly as shown to share with my club members.  But… then I remembered it was time to create and original project for the annual 12 weeks of Christmas Design Team!  I’ll be sharing an announcement and details on how to get 12 free projects for the Christmas/holiday season this weekend :).

In the mean time… with a few extra supplies and the leftovers from the Snowflake Season Simply Scrappin’ Kit I created a unique 12x12 scrapbook page for today’s blog post!10._Scrapbookpage_v1

Definitely different that the scrapbook pages suggested in the kit.. this page has room for three photos (or two photos and a journaling box).  When you scroll to the bottom of today’s post, the supply list includes the Simply Scrappin’ Kit and just a few more items to add-on.  The Simply Scrappin’ Kit already comes with a bunch of die cuts including numbers and silver glimmer snowflakes, ribbon, tags, linen thread and mini clothespins!12.scrapbookpagev3

Leftover ribbon was tied into a single bunny ear bow and affixed to the page using three mini glue dots.  Using three glue dots prevents the bow from slipping or being untied.  The bow is flat enough that it will fit within a page protector.P1150801

Commemorating the holiday season with a little bling, basic rhinestone jewels were added to the die cut numbers from the kit for a very special “2012”.  To give the numbers a bit more dimension, I also sponged the edges of the number with a little crumb cake ink before attaching them direct to paper (DTP).13.scrapbookpagev4

A strip of Christmas tickets was added along the bottom edge along with a scrap of gumball green card stock and stitched satin ribbon.  Stampin’ dimensionals were placed beneath the ticket strip along the outer upper and lower edges so they would make contact with the card stock vs. ribbon, securing it in place.

Just for fun a few more rhinestones were added to the snowflakes on the ticket strip and on the first reindeer (isn’t that Rudolph?)

Tomorrow I’ll share another new card… and pleas check back this weekend for my 12 weeks of Christmas announcement!  You’re going to love these projects!

I look forward to reading your comments!

Hugs,

Sharon
