Celebrating the Season: Halloween

The autumn season brings us pretty fall leaves (in some parts of the country), wonderful feasts with friends, and trick or treats on Halloween night.  Even here in Jacksonville, Florida the weather is beginning to cool off!  If we’re lucky enough to escape the scourge of Hurricane Sandy it just may be a really nice weekend!1.greetingcardkidshalloweensfield1012

And so it seemed suitable that today I share a Halloween card featuring the pumpkin sitter witch from the Greeting Card Kids stamp set!2.greetingcardkids_happyhalloweenhandwritten

Happy Halloween on today’s card was hand written… not because I don’t have that sentiment because I do :).  Instead, I decided to hand write the sentiment just to do something different.  The Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set includes “Happy Halloween as do the mini catalog stamp sets “Toxic Treats”and “Seasonal Sayings”.3.balancingactbradsincornerofcard

Six Elegant Eggplant brads were perfectly placed in the lower right corner of the card using the essentials paper piercing pack, stampin’ pierce mat and paper piercing tool… skipping just one hole in the piercing grid when piercing.4.greetingcardkidonpumpkincopiccolored The image was colored using Copic markers and spica pens which contain glass glitter… they really sparkle!  If you don’t have Copic markers you can accomplish something quite similar using a blender pen and re-inkers from Stampin’ Up!  It will take a bit longer to color your image but the results will be quite nice too.5.greetingcardkidswithspicapen2

LOL, I turned the focal image at an angle in an attempt to capture the glittery cape on the girl… but the lighting in my house wasn’t really cooperating today!

Card stock colors used on today’s card are Elegant Eggplant and Tangerine Tango… there’s just about orange and purple at Halloween, isn’t there?

Do you recognize the green Designer Series Paper used on today’s card?  It’s actually a scrap of DSP left over from the Snowflake Season Simply Scrappin’ Layout Kit…. scroll down to the next post to see the scrapbook page I made with just a few pieces from the kit or click HERE see the scrap page!

Tomorrow I’m releasing information on my annual 12 weeks of Christmas newsletter.  It’s a bit late this year, so I plan to release two each week to get caught up…. please stop back by to see the details and information on the new 2012 12 weeks of Christmas Newsletters!

Thanks for stopping by today, I look forward to reading your comments!

Hugs,

Sharon
