Cat and Pumpkins Color Block Card

Last month I downloaded a digital freebie from artist Marianne Walker… I really meant to color it and enter a contest that they were running, but ran out of time!  LOL… not too happy with the final coloring either so it’s probably for the best!

The image was of a snickering and smiling Halloween cat with pumpkins and leaves… and after coloring it, I decided bright festive colors and color blocking would be a suitable setting.

Daffodil Delight, Elegant Eggplant, Basic Black, Old Olive and Peach Parfait card stock were added to a Whisper White card base (A2).

Isn’t he adorable (or she?) LOL… the pumpkins don’t seem too terribly impressed thought!

After adding the color blocking… it seemed a bit plain, so I broke out the stampin’ pierce mat, paper piercing tool and essentials paper piercing pack to add a little faux stitching.  Faux stitching is best done very slowly with the fine tip end of a marker… I went a little outside the stitching holes, so covered up the boo-boo with an eggplant “regals” button!

See you tomorrow with just one more card, LOL… and then I’m off in another direction!  Be sure to check the paper craft crew challenge this week… it’s going to be a fabulous fun surprise!

Thanks for stopping by my little blog, I look forward to reading your comments!

What a delightful image, Sharon! Love that smug kitty. Wonder what he did to make those "punkins" so tragically sad LOL - cute coloring!

Love this card! It's so cute! The kitty is adorable! BTW, you are too critical of your coloring.
