This month’s Midwest Stampers Group ATC Swap theme was alcohol inks and/or leaves. I decided to use the fall foliage stamp set, gold dazzle marker and a little champagne glimmer paper with a die cut, embossed and distressed leaf.
Making this ATC was a lot of fun to make! Starting with a 2-1/4” x 3-1/4” piece of glossy card stock, the background was created by stamping multiple fall colored inks and the images from the French foliage stamp set.
Plastic Wrap was scrunched up, flattened and stuck to a long, narrow acrylic block and inked to stamp the left edge in both soft suede and early espresso ink. Kind of a messy approach… but I wanted the effect of a tree trunk and I think it worked ok.
A brown glimmer brad was attached in the upper left corner of the ATC and then all the edges of the glossy card stock were sponged using more mustard ink and a stampin’ sponge wedge.
A layer of more mustard card stock was cut 1/8” larger than the stamped piece, attached and wrapped with ribbon before attaching to a regulation sized ATC base of 2-1/2” x 3-12”.
LOL… I’m often asked what do you do with ATC’s? Well, they’re like miniature canvases or art pieces…. so they can be framed, collected and even made into focal images for cards.
This retired DSP seemed to be a great combination for today’s art ATC share, don’t you think? Which layout do you prefer…. vertical or horizontal?
LOL… it’s not really a card but a protective mailing pocket for today’s MWS Swap share…. Hope the recipient liked it! She made me an absolutely stunning ATC complete with handmade paper and dried leaves… gorgeous!! I’ll have to ask her if it’s ok to share on the web with credit though!
Have a really good day, and hope you’ll stop back by tomorrow! I look forward to reading your comments!
