Vintage Evergreen with Glimmer & Shimmer

Champagne Glimmer Paper, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, beautiful Lacy Brocade Embossing and a lovely double loop bow are all elements of today’s Vintage Evergreen Christmas Card.

I love making Christmas cards, do you?  Today’s Evergreen Christmas Card also employs Core’dinations Card Stock in Early Espresso from page 6 of the current mini catalog.  The card shown at the top of that page was my inspiration… LOL, it turned out quite different though!  come to bethlehem and the evergreen stamp set combinedIsn’t this fun?  Deep rich colors of Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso card stock are contrasted with softer shades of Certainly Celery and Very Vanilla.  It’s a real WOW project in person!!  use a staMP MA JIg for perfect placement of two step imagesStill not using my stamp-ma-jig, but if you wanted perfect alignment of two step stamps, it may be the tool for you!

After embossing the Early Espresso Core’dinations card stock using the lacy brocade folder and big shot die-cutting machine, the surface was sanded lightly to reveal the softer color beneath.

Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint was then added to the sanded surface using a sponge dauber for a subtle sparkle and glimmer effect.constrasting texture and glimmer... a real wow cardSpeaking of glimmer… don’t you just LOVE the new Champagne Glimmer Paper??? I couldn’t resist adding a strip of the super sparkly paper to today’s Christmas Card!come to bethlehem sentiment and delicate designsA fun snowflake border was added along the bottom edge using one of the Delicate Designs Embossing Folders and Large Scallop Edgelit Die.

The “Merry Christmas” sentiment was stamped in color coordinating Cherry Cobbler Ink along the bottom edge of today’s Christmas Card.  The Sentiment was borrowed from the “Come To Bethlehem” stamp set… and just the right size for the space I’d left on my card!shimmer paint both sides using sponge dauberHad to lighten up the photo a bit so you could see the lovely glimmered cherry cobbler seam binding and double loop bow.  After applying Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to both sides of the seam binding using a sponge dauber… it deepens the color of the ribbon to an even darker, rich hue.  An extra, bonus is that the ribbon is also stiffened and hold it’s shape better.

Isn’t it amazing how just a little ribbon can make such a difference on a card?  LOL… still not sure what I’m going to do with yesterday’s Christmas Card…. the jury is still out!

I hope you enjoyed today’s Vintage Evergreen Christmas Card along with all the Glimmer and Shimmer!  I look forward to reading your comments!
