Colorful DSP and Friendly Phrases PCCC5

Bright, colorful Designer Series Papers (DSP) and the friendly phrases stamp set today for a Happy Card!  Welcome to my blog, and the Paper Craft Crew Challenge #5!  Today I’m double dipping and made this card for a second challenge as well… the SUDSOL Challenge was to feature 2 or more embossing folders on one card or project!Friendly phrases, dsp, shop online Sharon_field_pccc5_829Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight and Real Red colors are paired with Whisper White card stock… aren’t they fun colors together?  LOL, I’m always cautious about putting Red and Yellow together for fear of having my card look like one of those quickie check cashing places!emboss and sand the dsp from summer smoochesThree embossing folders were used… houndstooth, fancy fan, and perfect polka dots.  After embossing the DSP with the Fancy Fan Folder, I sanded it lightly to remove some color revealing the white DSP core.  I meant to have the fan face the other way (turn 180 degrees)… but something happened in the assembly process.midnight muse ink and whisper whtie card stockAfter stamping “happy day to you” and punching it out with a decorative label punch, the upper portion was embossed using perfect polka dots folder too.  Have you ever run a portion of your card stock through the Big Shot Die-Cutting machine and heard a loud thump?  Or, sometimes notice a crease where the embossing folder ends?  That is easily solved by feeding the loose end of the card stock through the Big Shot machine first… folder last… no thump or crease!mary englebreit inspired blossom on colorful happy cardFour punches were used to make this fun fancy flower… 1.25” scallop punch from the current mini catalog (page 7), the 3/4” circle and tiny circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack, and Blossom Petals Builder Punch.dsp combined with embossing for a low profile 829

Stampin’ Dimensionals (aka ‘pop dots) were used to  attach the designer label punched sentiment, scallop circle, and 3/4” circle to the card.  The ultra think dimensional dots are mail friendly providing little bulk for the USPS and therefore a standard stamp!SQSC54_on_Createdbyu_Blogspot
