Blog Hop Stop # 2 Joyous Celebrations!

Welcome to this weekend’s Stampin’ Addicts Holiday Catalog Blog Hop!  The blog tour (aka hop) will begin officially at 12noon Eastern Time… if you’re an early riser, be sure to check back for all the wonderful holiday mini featured projects in a couple hours!

Perhaps you’ve arrived from the tour stop #1:   Jennifer Timko’s fun blog “Stampin’ On The Fly”.. or perhaps you’re just starting here… be sure to click through all the next blogs to see all the wonderful samples!  holidaycatalogbhbanner-001

Each blog on today’s hop will feature brand new products from the Holiday Catalog, and you won’t want to miss a stop along the way!  My featured holiday catalog product is the Joyous Celebrations stamp set and a few other new products as well!be of good cheer and joyous celebrations!

This is a clean and crisp card featuring gumball green, cherry cobbler, very vanilla and midnight muse card stock and Be of Good Cheer designer series papers (aka DSP).  A tiny rhinestone basic pearl was added to the stamped ornament, along with a little ‘faux stitching” ornament hangar and a knot of real red taffeta ribbon.P1150018LOL… this is a bit unusual color combination for a Christmas Card, don’t you think?  Four new Holiday Catalog products are featured on this card… the Joyous Celebrations stamp set, champagne glimmer paper, Early Espresso Core’dinations Card Stock, and Holiday Frames Embossing Folder.P1150014The tiny reindeer was stamped using versamark ink, covered with pewter embossing powder and heat embossed.  The holiday frames embossed core’dinations card stock was covered with champagne shimmer paint using a sponge dauber… so was the coordinating soft suede card stock and crumb cake taffeta ribbon!

I learned something really interesting while making this card which is much more beautiful in person than in the photo… LOL, isn’t that the way it always is?  Anyway, after getting a little careless with the champagne shimmer paint… it ended up on my fingers and on the core’dinations card stock in places where I really didn’t want it to be.

There was an easy fix to the random champagne shimmer paint prints… and here’s

Today’s tip for paper crafters

  • If you get shimmer paint on card stock in places where you’d rather not, simply dampen a paper towel with rubbing alcohol and rub directly on the card stock (gently) to remove the random paint!  Works like a dream!
  • To make the ends of your double loop bow go in opposing directions, simply pull one end of the bow towards your palm and the other away!P1140999

Kind of a boho chic look.. patterns and layers and pops of unexpected color!  This card uses the holiday catalog dsp “Snow Festival”.  Taking cues from the paper, a pop of baja breeze card stock was added behind one layer and of course a pretty double loop bow finishes off the card!

Today’s post will remain through Sunday so you can have time to visit all the blogs on the tour Smile.  I hope you’ll take time to visit each one and leave a sweet comment… I know I love reading your comments and I’m sure my fellow bloggers will too!  For your convenience, use the next and last blog buttons below to visit others along the hop!

The next stop on today’s Stampin’ Addicts Blog Hop is Rhonda Griffin’s delightful blog, The Stampin’ Bunny!  Can’t wait to see what she’s done with her Holiday Catalog Product!
