Simply Wonderful Natural Composition WOW

With the strength of card stock yet sized for scrapbooks (12” x 12”), the new Natural Composition Designer Series Paper was a real WOW at the First Wednesday Card Club meeting this month!

Have you had a chance to work with this new DSP?  The paper has embossed patterns on one side, and an awesome natural paper print on the reverse.  Patterns include music sheets, script with flowers, wood grain and more.clean and classic lines and masculine card

Today’s card also features the Friendly Phrases and Delicate Doilies stamp sets, Always Artichoke ink, a small wood button and the new herringbone embossing folder.layered punches and stamped images with ribbon banner

Edges of the extra large oval punched sentiment and all very vanilla card stock pieces were sponged with crumb cake ink to give today’s card a very classic and aged appearance.stampin pierce mat and essentials paper piercing used

Metallic Brads in gold were added to the upper right corner leaving two holes between each piercing.  I wanted the layers to lie flat, so the piercing was done after gluing four layers of card stock together (embossed always artichoke, very vanilla, Natural Composition DSP and the last Very Vanilla layer.  Adding the brads through multiple layers ensures there will be no bumps protruding from the upper card stock layer.  button looped with linen thread and tied to ribbon

A new Naturals Designer Button was looped with linen thread and secured to a length of retired Early Espresso Satin Ribbon… I sure wish SU had not retired that ribbon, it’s always been my favorite!

Wow… I’ve had a chance to peek at the new holiday mini catalog, have you?  It’s got tons of really fun new products including dies, framelits and more!  One of my favorite picks:  Champagne Shimmer Paper… LOL it will go well with my stash of retired brushed copper card stock… wish they had brought that back too!

I’ve got a ton of things on my ‘to do’ list… it just never seems to slow down!!  Last weekend I spent almost three days car shopping with our DD.  I’m so glad that’s out of the way!  I never look forward to haggling with car dealers… not fun at all!

DD finally settled on a new vehicle, turned in the car we leased for her upon her return from Europe so she could get to/from college while finishing her Masters Degrees and job interviews.  Where does time go?  It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years already!

I hope you have a lovely week, and look forward to reading your comments!

Hugs,

Sharon
