Frosty Friends Poppy Parade and Black!

Frosty Friends is a single image wood mounted stamp found on page 9 of the new Holiday Mini Catalog (available August 1st, 2012).  I love the playful snow people images, and the affordable price of this single image stamp as well… at just $11.95, what’s not to love?

Today I’m sharing two versions of the same card featuring this stamp set and the Greetings of the Season Stamp Set.challenge card blown by adding color to snow peopleThe card was originally made for the Dynamic Duos Black Tie Challenge… The challenge was to use Poppy Parade and Basic Black with neutral colors in a card.  I finished the card and then realized that  hadn’t followed the rules by adding bashful blue highlights when coloring my snowman… LOL so much for that challenge!!  After making the initial card… I thought it was missing something… and changed it up a bit.silver glimmer paper snowflake and antique brad addedAdding an antique brad and snowflake die cut was just what the card needed, don’t you think?  Love the contrast of sparkle and wood-grain embossing!!bashful blue, poppy parade, wild wasabi and pumpkin pie coloringLOL… colored the snowman noses with a pumpkin pie marker , and the holly with a wild wasabi marker too!  So I blew the challenge in more than one way.. maybe I’ll find time to make another card during this crazy busy week, we’ll see!strong lettering and embossing with black ep“Greetings of the Season” is from the stamp set of the same name… and I used this particular image because of the bold letters and contrast it provided.  LOL, plus it fit exactly into the empty white space on the card!  Love how nicely this image embosses!  At first I thought there was something wrong with the letter ‘E’ in season then realized that the ‘G’ from greetings was looping through the word… duh!run an open craft ink pad along the embossed surfaceAfter embossing the basic black card stock with the new wood grain embossing folder, I ran an open white craft ink pad across the surface to make the wood grain pattern pop.big shot machine and snow flurry bigz die cut snowflakeAnd of course, finished it off with the die cut snow flake popped with a dimensional dot!

Really a cute card. The litle bunny peeking around the snowman is adorable
