SQSC 45– Cheesecloth and Sympathy Sets

Well.. it continues to be a dark and dreary week here in North Florida!  We need the rain but I really do miss the sunshine Smile.

Today Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge card features three stamp sets:

  • Love & Sympathy
  • Blessings From Heaven
  • WoodgrainSQSC_Sharon_Field_45_challenge with 3 stamp sets

The woodgrain stamp set background was stamped both vertically and horizontally creating a faux cheesecloth effect… not quite as dimensional and fun as the faux fish net technique found in a previous Super Saturday Tutorial!background createdb using soft suede ink and woodgrain stampThe edges of the paper were distressed with paper snips and then the entire very vanilla background was sponged using Crumb Cake ink and a wedge of stampin’ sponge, a little heavier along the edges.ink direct to stamp using markers and then roll the darker color along the edgeBoth images shown here… sending love… and the flower are from the  Love & Sympathy stamp set.  The flower was colored using markers in Gumball Green, Calypso Coral and Raspberry Ripple.  After adding calypso coral using the brush tip of the marker, the edges were colored using raspberry ripple too… kind of a rock ‘n roll technique using markers!shop my online stampin up store for your stamp suppliesAll sentiments were stamped using Midnight Muse ink.. these two come from the Blessings From Heaven Stamp set.  LOL… I totally resisted adding a little bling to dot the ‘I’ in Memories!SQSC45_on_Createdbyu_blogspot_062712Here’s the sketch which the design team was given for today’s challenge.. LOL I tried to do my sentiments skewed and  crooked but couldn’t quite make myself!  Perhaps you’ll have better luck?

We’d love to have you play along with the Stampin’ Queens Design Team this week!  Simply use the sketch shown above to create a card, project or even scrapbook page/layout and then visit the Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge Blog to upload the url of your original art and creation!

See you tomorrow with a new and different Fabulous You shoe card… LOL are you tired of shoes yet?  Not me… Never!!

Hugs,

Sharon

Sharon, love how you turned the sketch vertically. And I love how you created boxes of sentiment. Very clever. Very pretty. Very wonderful! TFS

Wow! This is great.... I love the look of the "cheesecloth" background.... I will need to use that technique someday. Great card.
