Fathers Day… Another Club Card

Today’s card is a manly man Fathers’ Day Card which club members made this week.  Featuring new 2012-14 In Color Midnight Muse, along with Comfort Café Designer Series Paper (DSP).  burlap ribbon and wood button on club card

Stamp sets used in today’s Fathers’ Day card:  Summer Solstice and Delightful Dozen.  I also snuck in a little Old Olive Card Stock and wired burlap ribbon from the local craft and hobby store.creating a balanced venue on fathrers day cardThe wired burlap ribbon was a nice compliment to the masculine colors and DSP, don’t you think?the ribbon falls apart if you remove the wireLOL, I tried pulling the wires out of the ribbon, boy was that ever a disaster!! Apparently the wire is what is holding the edges and layers together!faTHERs day sentiment from delightful dozen stamp set. This is one of the new wood buttons, tied with linen thread and attached to the card front using a stampin’ Dimensional.  The leaf from Summer Solstice was stamped in old olive ink onto old olive cardstock and then sponged ever so lightly using a sponge dauber and tangerine tango ink.

Update on DD:  Not good.  She said the bed was too uncomfortable so spent the night on the floor of our great room and could barely stand in the morning.  I have placed dining room chairs all around the house to support her as she needs to move about.  LOL up before 6am yesterday morning but as of 830 hadn’t had enough strength to make it to the bathroom!  I’m hoping we can get in to see another doctor today… wish I could do something more to help her!

See you tomorrow!  Please keep her in your prayers!

Oh Sharon, love this one! The colors are very nice together as well as the textures. Continued prayers for your daughter. I'm so sorry she is having all this pain.

Sharon, this is a gorgeous Father's Day card.... very manly... I love it.

Maybe you should take your daughter to the hospital, they would at least alleviate the pain she's in. Nothing is worse than that back pain, it's so debilitating.

Hi Kay, we did see an MD as well as the chiro.. and she's got some meds now.. and the chiro was able to adjust her one more time with significant results. Good news from the xray too! I think her recovery took longer because he insisted on working from home and was sitting through the pain vs. getting up and moving around as she should have been!

What "local" store did you find that fabulous burlap ribbon at? I really would like to get my hands on some of that!

I'm sorry your daughter has been suffering so much. Glad she finally got some medical attention. As a back pain sufferer myself, I've also done the staying-in-bed routine (or in the chair), and movement is the best thing. Healing just takes time, and just when you thought it would last forever, it gets better.

Hi Robin! To answer your question, the burlap ribbon may be found in the floral department of the local craft & hobby stores. This one came in a 30' roll and was labeled "The Robert Stanley Collection" which I found at my local Hobby Lobby Store.
