May Day - Fruit & Flowers Colorful Card

Happy May Day!!  Gosh, it’s already month 5 of 2012, where does the time go??  As we enter the final month of the 2011 Idea Book and Catalog, we are saying farewell to the 2010-12 In color collection, several stamp sets including today’s Clearly For You… and a whole bunch of accessories!!

Several accessories have already sold out.. check the retired lists in my side bar for current quantities… the list is updated daily at 4pm MT.  To ensure your supplies are available use the convenient online shopping option at my Stampin’ Up! store!

Today’s card features a very happy, bright color combo:  Wisteria Wonder, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White and Poppy Parade!  I will truly miss Poppy Parade when it leaves our color palette at the end of this month, won’t you?   fruit and flowers happy may day cardTaking cues from the Domestic Goddess designer series paper (DSP), stamped blossoms from the fruit and flowers stamp set were added to one corner of the Daffodil Delight printed paper.  LOL… I can see I need to re-ink my Poppy Parade stamp pad too!

The domestic goddess DSP is two sided… the original 12x12 paper had a pretty flower printed in the lower left corner, also in poppy parade!

See how the ribbon doesn’t go all the way to the bottom of the Wisteria Wonder Layer?   wrapping ruffled ribbon

Instead of wrapping it equally, I brought it up and over the Wisteria Wonder DSP, and then around the bottom of the Poppy Parade layer… kind of fun!clearly for you butterfly in wisteria wonder and sentimentStampin’ Dimensionals were placed to the far right/left on the back of the postage stamp layered image so that it straddles the wisteria wonder ruffled ribbon.  The dimensionals then attach securely to both paper and ribbon which keeps the sentiment from flopping or moving.stamping fruit and flowers image in lower left corner to replicate the original dspA finishing touch… basic pearls jewels in medium and small sizes were added to the centers of three blooms.

Well, I’m off to ink that poppy parade ink pad!!  This bright happy card is one of three we’ll be making at tomorrow’s First Wednesday Card Club meeting!  Hope my clubbies like the bright happy colors!

See you tomorrow with a new Stampin’ Queens Challenge!

Big Hugs, and I look forward to reading your sweet comments!

S'funny how you think ur gunna bond with a colour....I thought Poppy was da Bomb when it came out...but I have hardly used it (sigh!) Thanks for pointing out the ribbon assymetry...I didn't pick up on it at all. Great card Sharon.
