Hello, Doily! A Quick CAS Card for YOU!

Hello Doily… I totally resisted this pretty background stamp for a very, very long time… but then it happened!  Stampin’ Up! put the lovely Medallion background stamp on the going, going, gone list!  I had to make a choice between the lovely Sunflower Background stamp and this one… Hello Doily.  Winking smile You can see which one won!

Now… why, oh why did I resist this stamp? Actually, I thought they were way too similar… but they’re not!!  Check out these cards using the retiring Medallion stamp:

Melon Mambo Quick CAS Card

Misted Water Background Medallion Embossed Card

Layered multi stamped background card

Medallion Christmas Card

And here’s today’s card share… a Clean and Simple design featuring A Word For You and Hello Doily!hello doily card with a word for you sentiment and dsp 5/3/12

Soft colors for spring… retiring blushing bride card stock is paired with neutrals patterns designer series paper and very vanilla card stock.neutrals brads 5/8" are retiring 5/12

The Hello Doily center was pierced using a mat pack and paper piercing tool… and then a retiring 5/8” neutrals brad was added.  LOL… love the dimensionality it adds to the stamped doily image!!P1130083

I really meant to use the mat pack and paper piercing tool to add a little faux stitching to the sentiment from A Word For You… having already added to the card front, opted instead to use a crumb cake stampin’ write marker and freehand stitched elements.

The lovely banner was made using a 1” square punch and aligning it evenly to punch a ‘v’ into the banner.3.lovely_taffeta_ribbon+accent

The hello doily stamped image was fussy cut and attached to a second fussy cut layer of blushing bride card stock.  After attaching a knotted ribbon bow across the card front, the hello doily layered image was glued DTP (direct to paper.

See you tomorrow with a fun new card featuring the Zoo Review stamp set (NOT retiring stamp set, LOL)!  I look forward to reading your comments and hope your morning coffee is everything it needs to be!!

Hugs,

Sharon

I've been stressing over what to do for my club next week and THIS IS IT!
Thanks this is awesome. Never hear of fuzzy cutting but like the idea.

I tried this stamp out at a stamp-camp and fell in love with it. Alas, I haven't used it since. Thanks for re-inspiring me!

That is so lovely!! When I first saw this stamp I didn't care for it. But I've wanted it ever since I saw someone's card, Mary Brown maybe with this and the field flowers set. Both have been on my wish list ever since.

The fussy cutting definitely paid off Sharon. This card is magnificent. Love the freehand stitching.
