Monday: Two Quick and Easy CAS Cards

Have you checked out the tiny print two page list of stamp sets retiring from Stampin’ Up!?  Yikes… it’s a long one.  Guess that means we’ll soon have a whole bunch of new, fresh and fun stamp sets to entice our creative muse!!  Click HERE to view the entire Last Chance 2010-11 Retiring Stamp Set list!

Viewing TIP:  The list is in PDF format, you can either scroll to the bottom of the page where the + and – signs appear to enlarge the pages OR you can simultaneously press both CTRL and + keys to obtain a more comfortable viewing print!

Today I’m sharing two very quick and easy cards in a Clean and Simple Design.  Both would translate quite well to one layer cards… but I just had to sneak in a layer or two!!up in the air and inspired by nature will retire on 5/31

Two stamp sets were used in creating this card… both will be retiring on May 31st.  Up In The Air is just the cutest hostess stamp set don’t you think?  After applying the sticker/label to my clear mount stamp set, I carefully cut away the words so they can be used separately and turned my three piece hostess stamp set into a 6 piece set!

sponged sky created with scallop punched card stock and sponge

LOL… forgot to color the leaves, eggs and nest before taking the photos of this card, yikes!  The background clouds were created quickly and easily using a punched scallop circle, bashful blue ink, and stampin’ sponge wedge.stamp old olive inked inspired by nature grass along the bottom edge o fhte card

The tall grasses were stamped in old olive ink, using the tall grassy image from the Inspired by Nature stamp set.  I love the grasses in this stamp set and use them often Sad smile  and will have to decide whether to keep or sell this one…A clean and simple Rue Des Fleurs card quick and easy to make

Rue Des Fleurs is just one of many fabulous stamp sets in the Occasions Mini Catalog, available through the end of April.  I’ve made similar cards to this before  (check them out here) but this time used naturals white card stock and re-sized the center stamped panel to 3.75” x 5”.

This is a really, really quick CAS card… as you can mount both images onto one acrylic block before stamping with Early Espresso Ink!  The edges were inked with the brush tip of a marker, but could have easily been dragged through the Early Espresso Ink pad before attaching to the standard A2 card base…. done in 5 minutes or even LESS!!

Thank you for visiting today, I hope you’ll stop by tomorrow for new card shares too.  I look forward to reading your comments and now… off to my stampin’ studio!!

Hugs,

Sharon
