Had a few moments in the wee hour of the morning to blurf (blog + surf = blurf)… and came across an absolutely adorable Easter project by Kim Score.
LOL, of course I wanted to make recreate her project… but that wouldn’t really be fair to Kim or you. So I came up with a little different spin on Kim’s cute Spring Chick and made a Happy Easter Card!
I changed it up a bit.. adding large oval scallop punches for wings, longer chicken legs, and a Blossom Builder Punch tail amongst other things, and my Spring Chick is Steppin’ Out!!
A tiny little sale-a-bration peach parfait organza ribbon was attached to her crown using a mini glue dot. The chicken lips are from the boho blossoms punch.
A tiny paper daisy corsage with a medium rhinestone jewel add a little bling pizzazz.
LOL… this spring chick has really long legs, and knees! I snipped into the tangerine tango cardstock partway, and simply bent the cardstock at the snip to make knees.
And my Spring Chick is ready to rock ‘n roll! LOL, I thought about giving her a purse… but decided enough was enough. Honestly, I could hear my DD saying “Mom, step away from the big chicken!!”… LOL and there’s a personal family favorite story behind that expression too, but she’d really be mad if I shared it.
The “Happy Easter” sentiment is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set… quite versatile, with a greeting for almost every season! The edges were sponged in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink, and after punching with a scalloped oval punch, it was attached to the card front using a stampin’ dimensional ‘pop dot’.
See you tomorrow with a new Super Saturday Tutorial! Be sure to stop by Kim’s blog: Paper Punch Addiction! You won’t want to miss her fabulous Spring Chick 3-D project!!
Hugs,
Sharon
