More Rue Des Fleurs weekend blog hop detail photo shares today as promised… but first, the scheduled Utah Divas International Color Challenge: UDI 68, a pretty pink Valentine!
The UDI 68 Color challenge this week commanded use of the colors: Pool Party, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Pretty In Pink, and Whisper White. Are you ready for my little Valentine card?
The polka dot designer series paper is not part of the pretty Valentine card, but it would have worked well with today’s challenge colors, wouldn’t it?
One of my favorite parts of this Valentine card is the focal image! The heart was cut using the Sizzix Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and Heart Framelits which will be available with the January 4th Occasions Mini Catalog release.
Whisper White Satin Ribbon was added along the back side of the pool party dsp die cut, and the postage stamp punched sentiment is from the “Occasions Alphabet” stamp set found in the 2011-12 Idea Book And Catalog issue.
A pretty bow was tied from Whisper White 5/8” Satin Ribbon, and attached along the bottom of the card using three mini glue dots… so it’s not going anywhere but in the mail .
After attaching the Pool Party DSP to Pretty In Pink Card Stock, I decided to run both pieces through a paper crimper… LOL, it’s kind of funny how it added a little texture and depth to the striped pool party dsp. It also provided drawing template or guideline when I decided to add hand-drawn squiggle and dot accents using a Real Red marker!
Here’s today’s UDI68 Color Challenge Inspiration Piece… LOL, I have no clue where they find this stuff, do you?
As promised, here are a few close up photos of the second Rue Des Fleurs Card from this weekend’s Stampin’ Addicts New Years Weekend Blog Hop! You can view the original card Bright & Happy Rue Des Fleurs Card HERE.
First up, “thanks” stamped with basic black ink, punched once, then attached to a post it not before punching a second time… this is a really easy way to downsize some of your punches to fit smaller sentiments and images!
And of course the fabulous and now famous watch umbrella ephemera and collage friendly image from the rue des fleurs stamp set… accents were colored using Lucky Limeade and Calypso Coral In-Color Markers… isn’t it fun?
Last, a pool party and in-color sale-a-bration ribbon bow. This is a bit of a sneak peek of just one of many freebies available with every order of $50 or more when the upcoming Sale-A-Bration Sales Period begins on January 24th! (pssst… if you haven’t received your Occasions Mini or Sale-A-Bration catalogs yet, please Contact Me!)
Tomorrow I’ll be back with a new fun sketch challenge from the Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge Design Team! I hope you’ll join in the fun!
I’ll also feature new close-up photos for the last of this weekend’s blog hop cards featuring the Rue Des Fleurs Stamp Set on Thursday January 5th - for those who want more… And I’m not done playing with Rue Des Fleurs stamp set either, lol… stay tuned, there’s more to come!
I really look forward to reading your comments!
