Why is it that every year, around the holiday, we all seem to need Sympathy Cards? Perhaps it is because we’re more aware during the holiday season, but it always seems like the obituary columns are chock full of familiar faces… sadly enough.
At the last Senior Stampin’ Session, when they asked if we were going to do Christmas Cards during the month of December, I suggested we make Sympathy Cards instead. Everyone acknowledged the need, and agreed that our focus should be on sympathy cards.
Today, I’m sharing the Clean and Simple (CAS) design for one of the cards we’ll make in the next Senior Stamping Sessions.
This card featuring the Uncharted Territory Stamp Set has a CAS appearance with a few little ‘extras’. A very masculine car, with a simple color scheme, it also incorporates simple sponging and faux stitching elements.A second stamp set, Blessings From Heaven, was used for the sentiment both outside and on the interior of the card. Simply knotted denim ribbon was added with a mini glue dot. The small knot isn’t too bulky and will process easily thorough the mail too.
After aligning a 2-1/2” punched circle template with the whisper white card stock layer, it was sponged with Baja Breeze Card Stock. The sailboat was stamped in Night of Navy Classic Ink, and then a white gel pen was used to color in a few areas on the stamped image… white caps on the waves, the small spinnaker sail, the stripe on the larger sail, and the moon.
On Sunday, I’ll share the second card we made… it has a few more layers, but still a CAS appeal for my senior stampers!
Tomorrow I’ll share a new tutorial too… hope you’ll stop back by to say Hi!
