Still Playing Around With Wood Sheets…

Still playing around with wood sheets and the Always Thankful Stamp Set.  Today’s masculine card actually uses one of the experimental pieces created while prepping for last Sunday’s Club Card HERE1.always_thankful_masculine_wood_Sheet

Unlike Monday’s card, this image was stamped with Soft Suede Classic Ink onto the Wood Sheet, and then colored with markers and pencils.  Unfortunately, the markers tended to bleed out from the very thin wood layer so pencils proved to be a much better choice.2.clear.embossed.3.times.focal.imageSimilar to Monday’s card, the wood layer was sponged with soft suede classic ink, and after all coloring was done, the entire focal image was clear embossed three times.

Then, just for fun, I popped it into the freezer for a few minutes.  After the image was sufficiently frozen, I cracked it gently, and then sponged more soft suede classic ink into the fine lines, a technique commonly referred to as “cracked glass”.  You can find a full step by step tutorial for the Cracked Glass Technique here, written by the fabulous Beate Johns at Splitcoast Stampers.3.sentiment.friday.card.sharon.fieldThe small greeting “thinking of you” was also added to the embossed focal image using Multipurpose Adhesive, so that it lie quite flatly between two tiny button brads.

Do you recognize the Designer Series Paper used on today’s card?  It’s another fabulous pattern from the Mocha Morning Specialty DSP pack.

Additional card stock used in today’s masculine Always Thankful Card:  Brushed Gold, Not Quite Navy.

See you tomorrow with a new Super Saturday Tutorial… it’s one you’ve requested Winking smile

Hope you’ll stop back by!
