Morning Cup Beau Chateau ATC

Still stamping with the Morning Cup Stamp Set… and had to make an ATC last week for a swap which I committed to…. so thought it would be fun to use one of my newest free stamp sets!1.atc_morning_Cup_Sharon_Field

Don’t you just love blues and browns together?  Here I’ve taken color cues from the pretty printed pattern in Marina Mist and Very Vanilla from the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper Pack (DSP).

The DSP was embossed as an afterthought using Pretty Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Big Shot Machine… then sponged with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  I used Soft Suede, to age the DSP a bit without overly darkening it.

The tea pot and tea cup were stamped onto Naturals Ivory Card Stock using Early Espresso Classic Ink, and colored using Stampin’ Write Markers in Marina Mist and Pear Pizzazz (tiny little leaf on the cup).  A white gel pen was used for additional bright accents… floral centers, and stitching/dots on the tea pot.

Although most of the card has vanilla and blue hues, I thought it would be nice to repeat the bright pop of white on the ATC by adding Whisper White Neutrals Brads.2.tip_to_Curl_Card_stock_Corners

One of my newest favorite tricks… curling card stock corners using my jewelry pliers.  The jewelry pliers have rounded noses, simply grabbing the corner and twisting perfectly curls the card stock corner too!

The edges of the Naturals Ivory card stock were also sponged with Soft Suede Classic Ink.  I considered distressing the edges a bit more but decided it was time to step away from the card and get it into the mail box!

Do you like to make ATC’s?  ATC stands for Altered Trading Card or Artist Trading Card… I’ve heard it both ways, there are probably other interpretations of the initials as well.  They’re small 2-1/2” x 3-1/2” trading cards are quick and easy to make, and are easily converted to a full size card when you use the image as your focal image.  They also make great additions to scrap book pages!

A couple years ago I made 100 ATC’s for an Autistic Camp in Tallahassee, Florida… it was a boy’s camp, so I used stamped images representing animals and nature, and blogged about it too!  You can see those ATC’s in THIS Blog Post too!

Speaking of nature and animals, tomorrow’s card for the  Stampin’ Queens Sketch Challenge… features the majestic lion from the Zoo Review stamp set.  Hope you’ll stop by and play along too!

Hugs,

Sharon
