I really like this card, it is beautiful and the chance to win something is great. I guess the sports fan person I would suggest a pair of tickets to a favorite game or a gift card to a sports shop. Thanks for sharing the card.

Very cute card, Sharon! I love the flower embellishments. I once gave my husband a year's pass to the climbing gym because he liked to get exercise that way. It was something he never thought about and really enjoyed it. Hope you DH has a wonderful birthday!

Hi Sharon! Oh what a pretty card you made! I like the colors and beautiful coloring you did on the flower.

My guy is an outdoorsy person and I have surprised him with lots of gadgets to help with outdoor hobbies. I think the most special gift I've ever given him though, was his dad's American flag framed with his service pins and dog tags attached inside. I think I did that five years after he had passed. It is a nice memorial and very meaningful. Good luck finding a special gift for your quiet guy.

Another fab card from you again.

As for gifts for DH's - best one that I gave mine was some vouchers for him to buy some DVD's to add to his collection of Detective movies. You could also consider buying tickets for him to a special sporting event.

Thanks for sharing
Trina

First, your card is beautiful Sharon. I can't believe I don't have that stamp set -- so I hope that Random picker stops on my number (highly doubt it as it looks like I am the first one to visit). Now, best gift for my husband: always lots of expensive cologne because I love the way he smells!! I know, sounds boring but he loves it and so do I.

Well the best gift was to a train magazine for my hubby. He is a lot like your hubby hard to buy for. I usually just tell him to go shopping on ebay and buy what he wants now. LOL!

Pretty card. Love the color combo and bling.

Sorry I can't help with a gift suggestion--Wolfgang is difficult to get something for as well. How about a romantic dinner out and a beautiful hand-crafted sport-themed card?

What a beautiful card, Sharon! Thanks so much for sharing. As far as your hubby goes, why not make him up a coupon book with things like his favorite dinner, back rub, etc. I have done this for my hubby and he really loved it, and used them all, lol. It is a gift of yourself and your time and to me that is a very special gift.

I would just love the chance to win a free pass! To answer your question, my husband likes to look at the stars. One year I gave him a telescope. My favorite gift though, was naming a star after him! They get a great certificate with the name -- you get the exact coordinates so you can locate it with the right equipment! Very cool! Everyone wants to be famous in their own way, right? TFS!

Very pretty card! As for that quiet guy of yours, the only thing that I can think of is one of those super sports packages either from the cable co or one of the satellite co's. My guy isn't into sports except fishing! I get him gift cards to Bass Pro. Good luck!

Beautiful Card..My husband likes simple things.. a homemade apple pie is the top winner around here. He likes to watch sports but would not like an expensive set of tickets. I am thinking about a glass blowing class for him since he has mentioned on more than one occasion that he always wanted to try it.. it is thoughtful yet not expensive (and seal the deal with his fav pie of course) anyway that's what I'm looking at :)

What a pretty card! You are so right there is a lot going on in your card. Even a CAS look can pack a punch.
Prior to our getting together my DH had a ceramic Mermaid wall mount piece (It's really a beautiful piece) It had broken and was in many pieces and some were missing. When we moved in together I found the box it was in and put it away someplace safe.A few years ago I took the box to a ceramics stor and the owner informed me that she no longer did repairs but would teach me to fix it. It took 5 settings but I fixed it good as new. He was blown away and so appreciative, really surprised and excited that "She" was whole again!
Does he have a special treasure that needs restoration or repairing? Hope that helps!

Gorgeous cards - as usual.

The best thing I ever gave my guy for Christmas was a drill press. He's a carpenter and had been wanting one. It was expensive, but he is so worth it!

Pretty Card!

My DH has a birthday next week - 1 week after mine!! One year I gave my hubbie a chartered fishing gift certificate. His brother in law came to town and they went fishing!! Great time for all - I got stamping time and they had good fun fishing and visiting.

Thanks for a chance to win such super Blog Candy. The best thing I ever got my hubby was when he was overseas (Navy) and he was always looking for ways to display his 'wildlife'. So I wrote and told him I bought him a stand for his wooden ducks and it just happen to be big enough to store my sewing machine! Well I thought it was nice! LOL

Hey Sharon enter me to win one of those passes.

I would have to say the best gift I ever gave was a ticket to go sky diving. He was absolutely blown away! Excuse the pun!

I made a small scrapbook album of all of the things that he has made over the years and he loved it! It could be any accomplishments but my husband used to love doing woodworking. I think my next one will be him and the children as they were growing up. I haven't done it but my friend was "a slave for the day" and it was her husband's favorite gift of all times! You can just imagine....

Gorgeous card and I like the way you showed off all the elements. My DH is also very hard to find gifts for and he also likes old movies. His latest favorite old movie is "The Third Man." I found a soundtrack CD that has all the music ("Third Man Theme" and all the other music is played on a zither) and even some of the other audio from the movie. It's not expensive, but it's going to be a "Wow!" when he opens it Christmas Eve! So you might look for a CD that features one of your DH's favorite old movies!

You card is so very pretty..such gorgeous flowers and bling!! Would so love to win a spot in the Inkspirations4U Christmas Edition..have never participated in that before.. Now..the best thing I ever gave as a gift to my special man, my current BF in Texas, was a home cooked dinner with wine, and candles after he had come home from a long road trip. He told me in his previous marriage he'd never come home to a home cooked meal after a long trip. I felt so sorry , but was glad I could do something he felt was so special. I don't remember anyone enjoying a meal and conversation afterwards so much.

Wow! What a prize and a beautiful card!! Love it! My husband likes the outdoors and the best gift I got him was last year I purchased a Game Cam. It is a outdoor camera that you put in a memory disc and batteries and everytime there is movement - it snaps a picture. We have seen deer, beaver, racoons etc... It has been alot of fun.

LOVELY card! I love your blog...and I cannot believe that I don't have this stamp set either! It has been my intentions since July, but for some reason, I have not made it a priority to purchase with free money?

How about a movie experience, either a trip to a site where a favorite movie was set, or a movie theme night at home. My husband loves this type of thing because he already has everything and doesn't like it if I buy a present just so has something.

Great cards
Best gift given was a very useful one-a george forman grill-sounds boring-but it's healthy, and why not get a few meals cooked by him for yourself!!

Dear Sharon,
I absolutely adore your work. I don't think there is a card I have seen that I didn't drool over! I especially love all of your layering.

The best Christmas gift I ever gave my husband was our daughter born on 25 December! Guess you can't use that idea...lol. Since he likes old movies, have you ever seen the boxed set of DVDs on the Civil War by Ken Burns? Excellent and much liked by both son and husband.

Maggi Minneman said...

'Love the blues'. I really like your particular style, Sharon, so it is easy to comment. As far as your hubby goes, how about tickets to his favorite college team's football or basketball games? Or a new power tool....always a great hit!! Or you-- and a slinky nightgown? He might like that! Have fun on his day!

Gorgeous card, I love the use of the DSP, and I especially love the two sets of bling!!

The best gift for that special someone was actually for 2 someones, my precious nephews. I took them on a "date" of mini-golfing and ice cream, just the three of us. We had the best time, and that way, my sister got to give HER special someone a special date as well.

Just like all of your cards, Sharon, I love this one, too!

My husband and I had never been on a trip without our 4 children, so one year I planned a trip to the Bahamas for just the two of us without letting him know about it. I discussed it with his boss (secretly), so he would get the time off and I made arrangements for my sister to babysit. I purchased the airline tickets and made the hotel reservation. I made a cute pamphlet and wrapped it up with a small brick so he couldn't even guess at what it was. He actually cried when he opened it and figured out what he was getting!

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for sharing your talents, the card is beautiful. Love the wreath ornament.
Hard to buy for the guy in your life after awhile. I too, think he would love to have a coupon book. Just a few things he can expect from you. HB to him and SIU to you.

Sharon...the best birthday present I ever gave my husbad (at least he said so) was a full body massage. He loved it! He was a mechanic for 40 years and when he was forced to retire he realized how every bone in his body ached....so I thought that would be a good gift. He still talks about it and that was 5years ago so guess what he is getting for xmas?

Great card, love the blues over newsprint.

How bout a football party. My husband never wants to inconvenience me by inviting the guys for the game. So, offer to make the snacks and sammies, then cheerfully sneak off to your stamp room.

Your card is beautiful. And I LOVE your silver ornament - very clever! I plan to make one and teach how to make it at my November class.

Lovely card. I like the bling on the brads - cool idea.

I think all husbands would be stunned and enjoy this gift - a professional photo of you in a sexy dressing gown. Quite large and framed very nicely to hang in your bedroom of course. A pleasant reminder for him every day.

Good luck with that special gift. And thanks for the great blog candy offering.

Your Silver Glimmer Wreath would be a treasure on somebody's tree for years.
I like the way you lifted your Simply Soft focal image up. Very nice with the First Edition DSP, sponging and extra special embellishments.
The best gift I ever gave my husband was a set of hockey prints of his favorite hometown hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers. It was after they had won the 5 Stanley Cups. All the proceeds were going to a charity for kids to play sports. The best part was that he never knew these prints even existed! I never thought it would be possible to get him really thrilled over a gift EVER! It's been 33 years now and that's the best I've ever done.

Another beautiful card. Thanks for sharing.
Well you are going to know that I am a hillbilly by my answer of what to get your husband for his birthday. For my husband's last birthday I took his Dodge Ram and had the windows tinted and steps (some people call them running boards) installed. When he came home from work he just walked around his truck and kept saying you did good. He really was surprised and happy.
Hope this helps. Mary

Hi Sharon,

Great tutorials - love your blog! Thanks for all the great work you do. For your Honey, put on one of those old movies he likes and give him a great massage, by you! It will mean more than anything else store bought.

Love your new post on the wreathe!
It is fantastic looking. Thanks for sharing such great ideas.
My dh loves old movies too. I got him some movies and put them in one of those plastic popcorn buckets along with microwave popcorn, bottles of pop, and movie size candy.
Thanks for the chance to win awesome blog candy!

Ooh, I hope I win! It should be about my "turn" to win some blog candy!
The best gift I ever gave my hubby was a custom frame with a picture of his dad in his army uniform with all of his medals that he was awarded in WWII. We had talked about doing it for awhile, but I did it in secret. When I gave it to him, he burst into tears! (His dad passed away when he was 18 years old and he said he was just overwhelmed by missing him.)

My husband told me the best gift he ever got from me was the personal letter telling him how much he meant to me. We were REALLY broke one birthday, so I sat and reminisced about the day we met, why I fell for him, and what he has meant to my life over the past 20 years. He LOVED it! (and thanks for a chance at awesome Blog candy!)

Hi Sharon. Thanks so much for a chance to win your fabulous blog candy. Who wouldn't want to win that!! My husband is the worst person to buy a gift for and his birthday is a week after Christmas, so it's a double whammy! Our son died 4 years ago so his wife sent me all his t-shirts and I (with a LOT of help from my wonderful friends) made t-shirt quilts for each of his 3 children, his wife, sister, and my husband. He was so touched by that gift and it's always in our living room as a "hug from Charlie."

My dear hubby that I love more than chocolate is the worst person to buy for. He always says he wants sock and underwear. I mean, really, socks and underwear. One year out of ideas, I crocheted him a fisherman's pattern afghan. I didn't think he would like it, but it's the one gift he continuely talks about. Good Luck! Love your blog.

Love, love, love that card!! The best gift I ever gave my honey was to kidnap him for a long weekend - I made all the arrangements and even worked it out so he had an extra day off work. To be honest, this was in return for a trip he surprised me with but he said I could never surprise him. ha ha ha, the joke was on him that time!!
