UDI54 Greeting Card Kids Pumpkin Witch

LOL… so, yesterday I told you that today’s Utah Divas International Color Challenge was really crazy… I think that once you see the color list and my card you may just agree!!

For today’s color challenge card, I used the Watercolor with Markers technique, one shared in a past Super Saturday Tutorial.    I really liked how my little pumpkin witch turned out… hope you do too!

All supplies used in today’s Color Challenge Design Team card are available at my Online Stampin’ Up! Store… so you can have your exclusive products delivered right to your door in just a few days.  For your convenience, the complete supply list will be displayed at the end of today’s post. UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotThere was a song/game played years ago on Sesame Street, perhaps you remember… it had to do with something not belonging, or one of these things doesn’t belong… If you don’t remember, that’s ok… basically, at the end of the song, you had to solve the puzzle.

LOL… two people I gave an advance ‘show’ of this card said exactly the same thing:

“That Pink Card Stock doesn’t belong!!”

I found that a bit humorous, because it was the first thing I thought too… I tried to change up the card, substituting Peach Parfait, Lucky Limeade, Garden Green and even Daffodil Delight Card Stock where the Melon Mambo was.  LOL, the card actually looked better with the Melon Mambo layer and actually, it kind of grows on you!UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotI really love coloring the kids in this stamp set Smile they’re just too cute, with sweet expressions on their faces!  I did add a couple colors to the challenge colors in order to color her though… soft suede to the broom, sahara sand to the broom handle, and basic black to the buckle on her hat!UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotOh… and a bashful blue shadow around the image… you can see it on the hat if you look really close.

The Garden Green background was embossed using the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and Big Shot Machine… adding just a little texture can add so much to a card, don’t you think?

UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotAfter I was satisfied with the pumpkin coloring, I also went back in and added extra color with the fine tip of my Peach Parfait Stampin’ Write Marker to give it a bit more dimension.

Oh, and 5 brushed silver brads were added and perfectly positioned using a mat pack and paper piercing tool.  UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_Blogspot“Happy Halloween” comes from the “Delightful Dozen” stamp set.  I colored the sentiment with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker, and the pumpkin using peach parfait and Garden Green markers.  I wanted the pumpkin eyes and mouth dark, so I colored them in with the early espresso marker too.

Have you seen the new ‘mini brads’ yet?  They’re perfect for accenting small, punched greetings!  This one was punched using the Designer Label Punch… and then attached to a post it note so that I could punch it again, shortening the Designer Label… pretty cool, isn’t it?  The edges were sponged with lucky limeade classic ink to finish it off before attaching to my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotAnd everything finished off with a lucky limeade ruffled ribbon bunny ear bow (make two loops or ears, wrap one ear around the other, and down through the bunny hole!).  That’s how my DH taught our kids to tie their shoes… apparently I learned a little something too Smile.UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_BlogspotThe overall profile for today’s color challenge card is quite low, very US Postal Service Friendly!  Even though it has regular and 2 mini brads, the card still weighs in under an ounce… so only one stamp too!

We’d love to have you play along with the Color Challenge Design Team at Utah Divas International!  Here are the colors that MUST be used in your card, and a little inspiration piece too…UDI54, Sharon_Field, Greeting_Card_kids, color_challenge, utah_ divas, in_colors, shop_online, sesame_street, us_postal_service, brads, mini_brads, watercolor_with_markers, tutorial, super_saturday, big_shot, square_lattice, delightful_dozen, textured_impressions_embossing_folder, Createdbyu_Blogspot

Hi Sharon!

This is pretty! I like your design and while the melon mambo wouldn't have been my first choice, it looks great with the little girl's outfit and the color really does grow on you! Your coloring is perfect. Wish I had that talent!

I really like the card, but it's the garden green that doesn't belong.
