CS47C Pretty Pines and Poinsettias Card

Today’s Creative Sketches Design Team  Color challenge uses the colors Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray, Peach Parfait, and Very Vanilla.  Way too close to Tuesday’s card colors, LOL.. and I had a difficult enough time coming up with a card for the Divas!!

For today’s color challenge card CS47C, I chose to use a couple new products from the Holiday Mini Catalog:

  • Pines & Poinsettias Stamp Set
  • Cherry Cobbler Quilted Satin Ribbon

If you haven’t received your personal copy of the new Holiday Mini Catalog, use the contact Me tab at the top of this page.  Items can be ordered at my online stampin’ up store, and delivered right to your doorstep, no fuss… no muss!CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonCapturing everything on this card with my camera was a bit difficult.  The focal image has dimensional flowers, and the Basic Gray card stock layer is popped onto the Cherry Cobbler layer using stampin’ dimensionals.  That’s the easy part…LOL, the card is also covered with a fine layer of champagne shimmer mist so it really glistens in person.CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonThe Very Vanilla background was stamped repeatedly with the flourish image from Pines and Poinsettias using Basic Gray Classic Ink using the stamp-off method to achieve a lighter shade of gray.  Additional flowers were stamped and cut out, popped onto the poinsettia layer too, which also features three tiny Basic Jewel Pearls.CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonYou can see some of the sparkle from the shimmer mist in this photo… as well as popped flowers and layer dimensions.CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonThe Cherry Cobbler card stock layer was also embossed using the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine and the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  All those fine ‘dots’ you see in the picture are glimmers of champagne from the shimmer mist.CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonQuilted Satin Ribbon, found on page 30 of the New Holiday Mini Catalog was tied into a bow, with ends properly clipped, and attached to the card front using three mini glue dots.  The new Quilted Satin Ribbon is available in two colors:  Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler (shown above).CS47C, Creative-Sketches, Pines_and_poinsettias, holiday_mini_Catalog, Champagne_Shimmer_paint, Shimmer_Mist, pearls, dimensionals, stamp-off, createdbyu_blogspot, Sharon_Field, Challenge, Design_team, quilted_Satin_ribbonHere’s the inspiration piece for today’s Creative-Sketches Color Challenge.  LOL… it is just too funny that both UDI and Creative-Sketches used similar colors this week!  The challenge colors for today’s color challenge are:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic Gray, very Vanilla, and Peach Parfait.

I hope you’ll join us and play along with the Design Team.  You know the drill!

What a well thought out and beautiful card. All those layers and background stamping add such drama and the layered flower is beautiful in it's shimmering Cherry Cobbler. Love it! TFS.
