Just Love That Poppy Parade! DCBD241

I just love that Poppy Parade In Color, don’t you?  And, it’s finally one shade of red that I can also wear without turning beet red myself, LOL!

Today’s Diva Coffee Break Designs Challenge # DCBD 241 is a monochromatic card using the Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper (DSP) along with Whisper White and Poppy Parade Card Stock and Ink… a really clean and simple (CAS) design too!DCBD241, Sharon_Field, Fruit_and_Flowers, Sincere_Salutations, Faux_Stitching, Pearls, CAS, Card, Thinking_of_you, Poppy_parade, Just_add_Cake

Two stamp sets were used in today’s card, a new set from the Idea Book and Catalog:  Fruit and Flowers; along with an old standard:  Sincere Salutations.

DCBD241, Sharon_Field, Fruit_and_Flowers, Sincere_Salutations, Faux_Stitching, Pearls, CAS, Card, Thinking_of_you, Poppy_parade, Just_add_CakeThe four flowers along the top of the card were cut out, and popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  One of the largest Basic Pearls was added to each flower center.  Cutting out these flowers was very quick and easy, simply cutting a ‘v’ between each petal.  DCBD241, Sharon_Field, Fruit_and_Flowers, Sincere_Salutations, Faux_Stitching, Pearls, CAS, Card, Thinking_of_you, Poppy_parade, Just_add_CakeSincere Salutations is really my ‘go to’ set for sentiments, I often carry it along in stamp classes and workshop settings to allow people to customize their cards based on their needs.DCBD241, Sharon_Field, Fruit_and_Flowers, Sincere_Salutations, Faux_Stitching, Pearls, CAS, Card, Thinking_of_you, Poppy_parade, Just_add_CakeA little ‘faux stitching’ was added to the lower corners of the card… providing some balance for an otherwise top heavy design.DCBD241, Sharon_Field, Fruit_and_Flowers, Sincere_Salutations, Faux_Stitching, Pearls, CAS, Card, Thinking_of_you, Poppy_parade, Just_add_CakeHere’s the sketch for today’s card… a very Clean and Simple (CAS) design.  You can see I simply turned it on it’s side and substituted pearls for the brad flower centers shown in the sketch.

Hope you’ll play along with us today at Diva Coffee Break Designs… and I’ll see you tomorrow with a new Creative Sketches Design Team Challenge too!

Hugs,

Sharon

I love it!! I've always wanted to 'Redwork' in embroidery and this reminds me of it somewhat. The flowers are so pretty the way you have them cut out and with the pearls!

I see one of your labels for this card is 'senior stampin'. Is this going to be done on the 31st?
