Grunge Background Halloween Card

Today’s Halloween Grunge Background was the result of one of those creative opportunities.

Trying to come up with a fun card for last week’s Creative-Sketches Kiss Technique Sketch and Challenge, after experimenting a bit with the Stripes stamp and Sweet Centers stamp set.  sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

The KISS technique was done on the focal image shown below…sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

After inking with Cajun Craze Classic Ink, I dragged an un-inked Stripes Stamp across the edges of the inked stamp.

Not too worried about getting all the ink off the stamp, I cleaned the ink from the stripes stamp by dragging it onto the grid paper protecting my table top. The random dragging created an interesting pattern on the grid paper.sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

So… this was actually a new creative opportunity, a real AHA!! moment!

After cleaning the stripes stamp thoroughly with Stampin’ Mist on a Stampin’ Scrub, I grabbed some Sahara Sand card stock, re-inked the stamp with Crumb Cake Classic Ink, and the grunge background for today’s Halloween Card was born.sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

Dragging the inked stamp from the outer edges towards the middle of the cut card stock created a fun pattern, so then I dragged it diagonally across the card stock too.

The faux “Rick-Rack” was cut using a big shot machine and the Timeless Trim Die, one of my favorites!!sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

“Happy Halloween” and the tiny pumpkin… LOL, don’t have a clue which stamp set they were part of!  I think it’s stashed away somewhere with my retired stamps, LOL!sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

Additional ghosts were cut from a second stamped image and popped around the focal image using Stampin’ Dimensionals, aren’t they cute?sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

LOL.. I cut off this guy’s arm by mistake, so just tucked his left side beneath the popped focal image.sweet centers, halloween, card, technique, grunge, stripes, drag technique, KISS technique, splitcoaststampers, sharon_Field, timeless_trim, big_Shot, die_Cut, punches, brads

I thought about cutting and popping extra Frank or two… but ran out time!  He is kind of cute though, don’t you think?
