Colorful Fall Thinking Of You Card CS45H

This week, the Creative-Sketches Designers made sketch based Fall or Halloween themed cards.  LOL… I live in Florida, so I don’t get to see a lot of fall colors anymore, but I still remember the brilliant autumn colors from my childhood in Michigan!

I’ve always loved fall colors… and today I’m using More Mustard, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade and Pumpkin Pie… LOL, all in ONE card!Autumn_Days, Mocha_morning, designer_Series_Paper, fall_Card, thinking_of_you, creative-sketches, sharon_field_createdbyu_Blogspot, ruffled_ribbon, sketch, challenge, brads, mat_packStamped images are from the Autumn Days and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, which I've paired with a scrap of Mocha Morning Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).Autumn_Days, Mocha_morning, designer_Series_Paper, fall_Card, thinking_of_you, creative-sketches, sharon_field_createdbyu_Blogspot, ruffled_ribbon, sketch, challenge, brads, mat_pack

Layered Large Oval Punches and Scallop Oval Punches were layered and popped onto the card front.

Five Basic Gold Brads were placed perfectly atop torn and distressed Mocha Morning Specialty DSP using a Mat Pack and Paper Piercing tool.

The Very Vanilla Card Stock layer was sponged with More Mustard Classic Ink, and thumped with the sponge to darken the edges.  After running a soft suede Stampin’ Write Marker along the edges of all the sponged card stock, the edges were distressed with a cutter kit, and then outlined again with the Soft Suede Marker.

I love how the fall foliage came out… I used the stamp/stamp-off method to obtain a lighter shade of old olive for the taller pussy willow stems.  A bit of lucky limeade ruffled ribbon is tied in a knot, off just a shade from Old Olive… but it works, just like slight shade variations work in a handmade quilt!Autumn_Days, Mocha_morning, designer_Series_Paper, fall_Card, thinking_of_you, creative-sketches, sharon_field_createdbyu_Blogspot, ruffled_ribbon, sketch, challenge, brads, mat_packThe wheat was painted direct to stamp using Stampin’ Write Markers.  First,  a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Marker on the wheat, then More Mustard was pounced down the center, and finally the stem was inked with Soft Suede.  As a final touch, to add some shimmer, depth and dimension, touches of Moonlight Smooch were added to the wheat and willows.

This standard A2 (4.25” x 5.5” card is very flat even though both greeting and flora were ‘popped’ using stampin’ dimensionals.  Oh, and before you ask, I traced the oval from a chipboard element I had in my scrap bin, then hand cut it with stampin’ dimensionals.

Hope you liked today’s fall card… here’s the Creative-Sketches sketch, and remember that it’s a fall or Halloween theme as well!

Beautiful colors & layout.

As much as I love living in FL in winter, I do appreciate being in NY during the fall.
