Christmas Snowflake Card–DCBD 239 Sketch

Brushed Silver, and Whisper White Card Stock… always a classic combination in my book!  This week’s Diva Coffee Break Designs Team Sketch #239 was the perfect palette for these classic colors, and a Christmas themed Card!

I may have to re-make this card again when my Holiday Mini Catalog pre-order arrives…. rumor is there’s a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in my box!

The pretty, swirly greeting is from the Delightful Dozen Stamp Set… You can bet I’ll using this one a LOT in upcoming card classes and events

Speaking of classes and events, have you registered yet for next weekend’s Christmas Card Class in Jacksonville, Florida?  We’ll be making SIX cards… it’s a great way to get a head start on your Holiday Cards!  You can Contact me to register for this class, or check out the Classes And Events tab at the top of this page for other upcoming classes!

The Snowflake #2 Die Cut in Brushed Silver needed a little differentiation from the open scallop border punched Brushed Silver card stock.  Instead of adding a second layer of Whisper White card stock, the greeting and mat were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Three Mini Brads are perfectly placed and spaced with the help of a mat pack and paper piercing tool (one of my favorite tools.)

After debating using the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, I opted instead for the Vintage Wallpaper folder because I wanted the pattern all over the Whisper White card stock mat.

Itty Bitty Buttons and Punch Pack were used to make the button bow embellishment.  The button was threaded first with White Bakers’ Twine, and tied to the back of the bow.  After Trimming, a bitty flower was punched from Brushed Silver card stock and attached to the top of the button with a Mini Glue Dot.

This is today’s sketch from the Diva Coffee Break Designs Team.  I hope you’ll join us and play along!  As you can see, I’ve substituted a snowflake die cut for the scallop circle shown in the DCBD239 Sketch, so you can make it your own by changing it up a bit too!

See you tomorrow with a new challenge from the Creative-Sketches Design Team!

Hugs,

Sharon

Gorgeous Sharon! I just love the silver and white color. Very elegant card. Funny, I didn't realize the buttons and the punch went together until seeing yours. I love when you teach me something new! Thanks.
