My Farewell to Sketch Frenzy Friday

This week I am saying farewell to my fine friends at Sketch Frenzy Friday.  The team will continue to bring you weekly mini blog tours and challenges, but I’m off to pursue other avenues.

This week’s sketch was created by ME!  For today’s card I chose to feature several new Idea Book & Catalog stamps and products (which I’ve highlighted in Blue just for you)!

Stamps:  Simply Soft, Petite Pairs

Ink:  Regal Rose, Lucky Limeade, Certainly Celery, Rose Red

Card Stock:  Whisper White, Pretty In Pink, Rose Red

Big Shot Machine and Textured Embossing Folders:  Square Lattice, and Designer Frames

Punches:  Small Oval, Scalloped Oval, Wide Oval

Other Accessories:  Mini Brads, Lucky Limeade 3/8” Ruffled Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, and Stampin’ Write Markers, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, and Snail AdhesiveSFF0715_SharonField_on_CreatedByU_Blogspot

The Whisper White Card Stock was embossed first using the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, and then a second time using the new Oval Designer Frames Textured Embossing Folder.P1030769_Photo3_Createdbyu_Blogspot

After stamping the focal floral image onto a scrap of Whisper White Card Stock with Lucky Limeade Classic Ink, I quickly colored in the flowers using Regal Rose, Certainly Celery, and Rose Red Stampin’ Write Markers.  The fine tip point of a Certainly Celery Stampin’ Write Marker was also used to colorize each tiny dot around the embossed oval.

LOVE the new 3/8” Ruffled Ribbon!  The ribbon is available only in this season’s new In-Colors:  Calypso Coral, Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, and Wisteria Wonder.

I wanted to add a bit more color and dimension to the ribbon across the card stock front, so cut a 1/16” strip of Pretty in Pink Card stock and attached it with SNAIL Adhesive to the ribbon.  Have to admit, it was a bit tricky making the holes in that skinny piece of card stock!  The brads were put through both the card stock and ribbon layer… enabling me to sufficiently hide the long legs of each brad.

LOVE too, the new MINI BRADS!!  These teeny tiny brads come in a package of 200 for just $5.50… quite economical too!P1030767_photo2_Createdbyu_Blogspot

Three consecutive holes with the mat pack were pierced through both layers of card stock above, and then the tiny brads inserted side by side.

TIP:  If you’re planning on piercing a single layer, small piece of card stock, do so before punching it out.  This will prevent the cardstock from curling or bending as you punch through the single small layer.

I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for just the right greetings for both the inside and outside of cards which I make.  LOL, do you think Stampin’ Up came up with the New Petite Pairs stamp set just for me?  Featured on page 164 of the new Idea Book & Catalog, the set includes nine pairs of greetings suitable for both the inside and outside of you card!

Petite Pairs sells for just $20.95 in clear mount (if there anyone still using wood mount out there, it’s $28.95).  The greetings cover a range of events, thanks, sympathy, thinking of you, wedding, baby, Christmas, Birthday, and simple hello.

The greeting featured on today’s Sketch Frenzy Friday card, “sending sympathy and prayers…” has a companion greeting for the inside which says “… to heal your heart”.  LOVE this stamp set!!   And remember, you can order your new Idea Book & Catalog products from my online Stampin’ Up! Store!

Here’s the sketch for today’s blog hop:sff0715_SharonField-001

As usual, I rearranged some of the elements, LOL.  But that’s what a sketch is all about… make it your own, create a card or scrapbook project and then visit the Sketch Frenzy Friday Design Team Blog to upload the URL of your handmade creation!

Next stop on the Sketch Frenzy Friday Blog Hop is Tammy Baldwin!  Be sure to leave her a sweet hello!

See you tomorrow with a new Super Saturday Tutorial!  I’ll also be announcing the winner of last week’s Blog Candy… be sure to check back and see if it’s you!  Psst.. you have until midnight to enter!
