Just the cards… Pennant Parade and Punch

If you’re one of the people who came by to say hello yesterday at the Evangel Temple Annual July 4th Fireworks Display and Craft Show… thanks!  It was great to meet you, see you, and chat!

Today I’ll be sharing two more cards featuring the new Idea Book And Catalog Stamp Set Pennant Parade along with coordinating Petite Pennant Builders Punch.  And, thanks to all who shared lovely comments about yesterday’s posts using these stamps sets as well!

Pennant Parade, Just add Cake, Petite Pennant Punch, Card Maker, Card Creations Volume 9, Michelle Phillips, punch, dsp, designer, balloons, idea book and catalog, baby, birthday, occassion, button bow

Isn’t this fun?  It’s a very simple yet could be time consuming card, LOL… depends on how long it takes you to assemble the balloon collage!  Tiny balloons were punched using the small oval punch (page 212 Idea Book and Catalog).  Color was added to the Whisper White Balloons using an Indigo Island (new in-color) marker, and the tiny star image from the Pennant Parade Stamp Set.

A white gel pen was also used to add a comma/accent to each colored balloon.

Just a little bling was added to the pennant and greeting with the help of basic jewel rhinestones.

Using a scrap of Chocolate Chip Card Stock, a flagpole was created for the pennant flag too.

Greeting, stamped in Chocolate Chip Classic Ink, is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Did you happen to notice the evenly spaced Indigo Island dots on Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper?  They were made with the Indigo Island Stampin’ Write Marker and Mat Pack grid.  The point/tip of the marker fit neatly into the tiny holes in the Mat Pack grid.

Paper and Card Stock for the card shown above:  Just Add Cake DSP; Indigo Island, Whisper White, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Peach Parfait Card Stock.

This card was actually a layout CASE (copy and share everything) from this months’ Card Creations Issue 9 from the people at Paper Crafts Magazine!  The original card had v-notched pennants and a tape measure ribbon/bow ensemble… too cute, by designer Michelle Philippi.

Every now and then I find something really cute, and always try to assign credit where due…. after all, you wouldn’t like it if someone took credit for your work now, would you?

I truly enjoy seeing your art and card CASE’s, linking back to the originator is basic blog etiquette, and it also helps me find you to leave a comment!

Personal rant:  just the other day I found one of my tutorials on a subscriber only site… shameless!

On the other hand, just the other day I received a very sweet and thankful email from a designer whom I recently cased… now that’s a class act!

Here’s a TIME SAVING TIP on how to remember where you saw those fabulous cards and projects online… when you save them to your computer, use the artists’ name and/or blog as part of the name in the saved photo or file!

Back to our card share!Pennant Parade, Just add Cake, Petite Pennant Punch, Card Maker, Card Creations Volume 9, Michelle Phillips, punch, dsp, designer, balloons, idea book and catalog, baby, birthday, occassion, button bow

After slipping narrow ribbon through the eyes of the tiny button, I slipped a bow through the back loop before cinching and knotting.  The bow was attached with mini glue dots… I generally use three to secure a bow in place.

The Jayne’s Alphabet stamped and punched banner pieces were glued dtp (direct to paper) across the front of the card, and an antique brad fills the corner void.  Looking at the photo now, I think I’ll go back and add a basic jewel pearl to the center of the tiny pinwheel attached to the baby greeting!  LOL… amazing what you see when you look at photos!

Still loving my lace border punch and scallop dotted ribbon… did you order yours yet?  Visit my online stampin’ up store to have yours delivered direct to your door today!

Have a safe and happy 4th of July Holiday!

Hugs, Peace, Love…

Those balloons are just too cute Sharon. How easy to use the oval punch for them. Thanks for more inspiration.

Yes ma'am! Those are gorgeous! You have completely made me love the new banner stuff! Wish I was one of those folks that got to stop be and say hello in person!
PS. Why is it so hard for people to give credit where credit is due?!

Your card is so cute. The banner items are growing on me now that I see so many projects made with them. I, too, save the website where I saw something so I can give that person credit if I use their idea, even if it's a year or 2 old.

I hear you Sharon! I Love your work and appreciate all you do for our community and it is a small one (Big Smile).
Please contact me to discuss a class schedule for VC my friend! Anything you create will be a special day for all of us!

By trail and error, I came to the same conclusion. I now save cards I like using the primary stamp set and the blog/creator name for the file name. This also allows me to go back to the original post if I need to.
