DCBD235 Clearly For You

Clearly For You was a stamp set that was featured in a mini catalog last year… and I’m so happy that it made the big book, aren’t you?  Versatile, this stamp set works for cards, simply adorned lockets, scrapbook pages and even today’s Diva Coffee Break Designs Sketch Challenge!

Dusted off my open scallop border punch for this one… LOL!  I know everyone is consumed with the new lace border punch, but today’s sketch seemed to need a more delicate touch, and this punch did the job.

LOVE using my Big Shot Machine to add two textures to a single layer of card stock!  Here, I’ve used both the Perfect Polka Dots and Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folders (TEF) to add two compatible textures to a single layer of Whisper White Card Stock.

The only stamp sets used in today’s Sketch Challenge were those in the Clearly for You stamp set!

It’s always in the details… the things that really make the card… here I’ve used two scallop border punches, nested together along with narrow Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon, a tiny Paper Daisy, and a medium Basic Jewel Pearl.

The “Amour” greeting was stamped and punched with the square scallop punch, and then two Basic Black punches were layered to create a larger scalloped square.

The focal image was colored with markers, giving the Basic Black and Whisper White card a  ‘pop of color’.  Using a Pear Pizzazz marker, tiny dots were added to the already stamped basic black dots in the flamingo background.

Additional color was added using Calypso Coral, Soft Suede, and Blushing Bride markers to enhance the image.

Hope you’ll play along with the DCBD team this week!  It’s a simple sketch and you can change it up a bit to fit your project too.

See you tomorrow with a new Creative Sketches Challenge!

Hugs,

Sharon

Lovely card. The black and white are great with just a little punch of color.

I love this! The stamp set is so nice. I love the added color! It really pops out and adds beauty to it. You know me, I'm not much of a b&w person - I need color and this is a great combo!!
