A modern landscape, that is! Today’s Sketch Frenzy Friday design was very simple… and of course, I had to get just a little carried away!
Today’s sketch based card is very textural and 3-dimensional with the help of the Doily Triple Punch, Timeless Trim Big Shot Die, and Elegant Lines Textured Embossing Folder. With accents of Basic Pearl Jewels, watercolor leaves, and Swirls & curls Verses, it has a whimsical feel. I hope you like it!
I used the Elegant Lines Textured Embossing folder to represent wind blowing (non tornado forming wind!)… and then hand cut leaves flowing and falling along the bottom, turned every which way.
The tree element on this card was hand cut from a strip of paper, creating a simple base trunk with three telescoping branches. The greenery on the tree was created with two different punches from the doily punch, inspired by artwork recently shared by fellow demonstrator Jackie Topa. After placing Stampin’ Dimensionals between the two punched layers, the tree greenery was glued directly to the card surface.
Continuing on the landscape theme, I also used another solid triple doily punch to create a pretty daffodil delight sun for my Swirls & Curls Verses greeting. After sponging the edges of the punched image with a sponge dauber, it was attached to the card base with stampin’ dimensionals too.
Team Member Angela Walters’ Sketch featured four circles along the bottom of a card front, and a ribbon stretching across the lower half of the card. Combining the two elements, Wild Wasabi Card Stock was cut using my big shot machine and Timeless Trim Die. Four hand cut leaves from the Fabulous Florets stamp set were water colored and attached across the trim piece with stampin’ dimensonals.
As a final touch, basic jewel pearls were attached between leaves.
