Flower Garden Water Color for SFF0506

Welcome to Sketch Frenzy Friday!  Today’s sketch was designed by yours truly!  I hope you like it and will play along with the design team!

Today’s card features the Dreams du Jour stamp set and two Textured Embossing Folders:  Elegant Lines, and the new Flower Garden folder from the Summer Mini Catalog.

SFF, Sharon Field, Created By You, Design Team, Sketch Challenge, Flower Garden, Texured Embossing Folder, Big Shot Machine

After cutting Shimmery White card stock with the big shot machine and Ovals Die, the oval was spritzed with water and a wash of bashful blue ink was applied to the background with an Aqua Painter.

The flowers were then painted with Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, and Pear Pizazz Classic Ink.  Once dry, the high spots of the embossing were highlighted with a white gel pen.  It looks much better in person LOL!

Basic Jewels, Pearls, Dreams Du Jour, White Signo Gel Pen, Water Color Wash

If you’re familiar with the Dreams du Jour stamp set, you’ll realize that my butterfly has additional spots and dots which were not part of the original image.  The spots and white gel pen dots were added after coloring the image with both daffodil delight and tangerine tango ink (using an aqua painter).

SFF0506, SharonField, Created by You, Flower Brads, Champagne Shimmer Paint

Soft Subtle Flower Brads didn’t quite coordinate with the colors chosen for today’s card, so they were colored using a mixture of champagne shimmer paint mixed with Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight Re-Inkers.  To speed up the drying process, a heat tool was carefully used to set the paint/re-inker mixture.  You want to make sure the paint doesn’t bubble and pop… so work slowly.summer mini catalog, doily triple punch, postage stamp punch, Created by you

As a final step, a scrap of Shimmery White Card Stock was stamped with Basic Black Classic Ink and heat set before doing a water color wash similar to the oval embossed image step.  Flowers and leaves were colored with re-inkers and markers in Melon Mambo, Pretty in Pink, Pear Pizzazz, and Old Olive.

Don’t you just love the new postage stamp punch?  The Love You image from Dreams du Jour fit neatly within the punched area.. pretty cool!  A doily punch was used to provide an extra layer and background piece of Pretty In Pink Card Stock, and then popped onto the ribbon tied card base with stampin’ dimensionals.

Here’s today’s Sketch Challenge…
