DCBD227 One Sketch, Two Ways

Today’s Diva Coffee Break Designs Sketch Challenge inspired me to make two cards…one for the guys, and one for the gals!  Although both cards used the DCBD Sketch, each features a different stamp set.

The first card uses one of my favorite stamp sets… Paradise.  The solid image leaves are very easy to use in creating layered backgrounds, shadows, and focal points.  The card can be for that special guy, or even a gardening friend.

One leaf image was stamped repeatedly onto First Edition Designer Series Paper (DSP) using Always Artichoke Classic Ink.  The long, narrow strip of Always Artichoke Card Stock was embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder and then sponged with Always Artichoke Classic Ink to add extra depth.  Want to see the inside of the card?

A cut-off strip of First Edition DSP was added to the inside, and two additional leaves stamped in the corner, adjoined with a brad.

Card Stock colors used:  Always Artichoke, Very Vanilla, and Sahara Sand.

Here’s the second card I made… featuring the Strength and Hope Stamp set from the Summer Mini Catalog, along with Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, and Very Vanilla card stock.  The Strength & Hope Stamp Set is a fundraiser stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

With each Strength & Hope Stamp Set purchased, $2.00 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation… isn’t that cool?  Shop my Online Stampin’ Up! Store for Strength & Hope and other supplies.

I love how the Hope image fits neatly inside the new Postage Stamp Punch!  The edges were daubered with crumb cake ink to make it stand out.

If you happened to notice something a bit different about the Blushing Bride Background, it’s because I used the Elegant Lines textured embossing folder twice on it to maximize the embossed areas.  Additional texture was added using the Vintage Wallpaper Textured Embossing Folder on Crumb Cake card stock.

Here’s the inside of the card…
