CS32C Bursts of Color - Two Card Designs

Totally perplexed by the colors of today’s Creative-Sketches Challenge, I ended up making two different cards… So, today I’ve got two card designs to share with you!

The first card has lots of texture, uses the Silhouette Sentiments and A Word For You stamp sets.  And… from the Summer Mini Catalog, the Triple Blossom Punch.  I thought the Blossoms needed stems and leaves so punched extra leaves using the Bird and Branch Punch.

After embossing the Whisper White Card Stock background, I thought a little more color was needed, and lightly sponged on Marina Mist Classic Ink.  Almost instantly, the card had more depth!

Centers of each flower were adorned with the tiny floral image from the itty bitty punch pack, and basic jewel self adhesive pearls.  Additional texture was achieved using the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder on Peach Parfait card stock, as shown in the background.

The other card made with today’s Creative Sketches Color challenge, is a simpler design, featuring the pretty flower images from the Love & Care Hostess Level 2 stamp set shown on page 5 of the Summer Mini Catalog… a set which was a freebie/award from Stampin’ Up!!Love and Care, pearls, double loop bow, Sharon Field, Created By You, CS32C

Clouds were sponged into the sky using Marina Mist Classic Ink and a scallop circle punch to mask the white area.  In order to maintain a lighter hue of Marina Mist color, after inking the sponge it was stamped off onto grid paper (scrap) prior to applying to the card base.

Rich Razzleberry Taffeta Ribbon was tied in a double loop bow and attached around the Whisper White Card Stock base using mini glue dots.  Check out the Double Loop Bow tutorial here if you’ve never tied one on your finger tips before!

The brush tip of color coordinating Stampin’ Write Markers were used to color the flower images before stamping in a random fashion on Whisper White Card Stock.

As a final touch, tiny Basic Pearl Jewels were added to the center of Rich Razzleberry flowers.  The self adhesive basic pearls really add a lot to an otherwise simple card.

Love the new Postage Stamp punch, and the greetings from Love and Care fit perfectly inside the punched area.  The edges were sponged with Marina Mist Card Stock to help it stand out on the card.

Here’s the ‘official’ challenge from the Creative Sketches Design Team.  We’d love to see your creative projects using these colors… simply create a project, upload to an online gallery (or your blog) and visit the team blog (click the name in the first line of this paragraph) to link and upload your challenge design.CS32C-0512, Color Challenge, Created by You, Sharon Field

See you tomorrow with a new Sketch Frenzy Friday Design… although I’ve only got one card to share, I really think you’re going to like it!
