CS31 Sail Away in Red White And Blue

I really love The Open Sea Stamp Set… but also couldn’t resist purchasing the single sailboat stamp in the Summer Mini Catalog!  Sail Away isn’t a stamp set… it’s a solo stamp on page 11 of the catalog and sells for just $9.95!

My family moved a lot while I was growing up… but no matter where we lived, it was always near some body of water… a lake, or the ocean.   Where there’s water, there’s bound to be sail boats, and although there’s a lot of work involved in owning or operating a sail boat, they conjure effortless and peaceful gracefulness in my mind.

Today’s Creative Sketches Design Team Challenge is a simple sketch which is perfect for the Sail Away Stamp Set.  Surrounded by Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Whisper White Card Stock, today’s masculine card reminds me of a 4th of July picnic on Lake Huron!

The Whisper White background card stock was embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder.  A band of Cherry Cobbler card stock was wrapped with Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine, crisscrossed in the middle and held in place with a single Stampin’ Dimensional pop dot.

The Doily Triple Punch was just the accent needed behind the stamped compass medallion,  a perfect nautical accent, don’t you think?

Here’s today’s fun sketch for the Creative Sketches Challenge:

Hi Sharon: I really like the cleaness (if that's a word) of your card. The sailboat really stands out with the red, white and blue...very nautical

Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous Sharon! You have a flare for nautical, that is for certain! I now think that I will need to order both of these stamps. And the added cherry cobbler strip on the sail is wonderful too! I just love this.
