CS30H Butterfly and Bee Buttoned Up!

The Creative Sketches Design Team Challenge this week is a combination of sketch and holiday themed card.

This is a card that just ‘evolved’ on my stamp table!  I had the sketch, and the stamp set I wanted to use… but had to really work at pulling all the sketch elements into the card!

I wish you could see this card in person!  Brushed Gold Card Stock Layers were embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, and then painted using a sponge dauber and Champagne Shimmer Paint… difficult to capture all that sparkle with my camera but I think you can see it in the lower photo corner punches.

I really struggled with where and what for the sentiment of this card… and finally settled on ‘mother’ next to the bloom.  Here’s an alternate placement:

Isn’t it amazing how you can move one small element and it changes the card?

Here’s the Sketch for today’s Creative-Sketches Challenge:

Hope you’ll come play along with us… you know the drill:

  1. Use the sketch shown to create a holiday themed card.
  2. Upload to your personal blog or an online gallery (flickr, photobucket, splitcoast stampers, etc.).  Be sure to use the key word CS30H.
  3. Copy url of the photo and visit the Creative-Sketches design team blog to link your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of today’s post!
