Valentine Mini Scrapbook Card SFF Design Team Sketch Challenge

When you first look at this week’s sketch for the Sketch Frenzy Friday Design Team  what does it inspire you to do?  My mind immediately jumped to a very special Valentine card and/or Valentine Scrapbook!  The round tab punches lent themselves to flip pages, or greetings.. but still a Valentine in my mind!

Today’s Sketch Frenzy Friday Sketch was designed by design team member Kim Innis… quite a challenge for me… how about you?  I hope you’ll play along with us this week!

After a lot of contemplation, dreaming and considerations… I opted for a mini Valentine Scrapbook / Card.  With my Occasions Mini catalog pre-order merchandise in hand, and visualizing a vintage theme… here is the mini scrapbook/ Valentine Card I designed for this specific Sketch Frenzy Friday Challenge…

This scrapbook evolved… as each page was completed, a new theme was found… ultimately my mini Valentine Scrapbook also became a gift card holder too!  There are photos of each page in the book, so take time to view the details… hope you like it!

The front of my Mini Valentine Scrapbook/Card and Gift Card Holder… featuring the sweet Ribbon Rosette from last week’s Super Saturday Tutorial.

The tiny bee from the Nature Walk Stamp set was stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink.  Dazzling Diamonds were added to the wings with a thin layer of tombow multi adhesive… the photo doesn’t do the bee justice!  I’m going to stamp a lot of these bees!

The center of the Ribbon Rosette also holds a Basic Jewel Rhinestone..  and each tab is denoted with a mini oval punch and 5 rhinestones.. lots of glitz and glamour!  Flipping open the first rhinestone adorned tab, here is the first page one encounters in the mini scrapbook…

Butterflies, bugs, and blooms were stamped atop the honeycomb print from the Botanical Garden Designer Series Paper.  Faux Stitching was added with a mat pack, paper piercing tool, and Rich Razzleberry Stampin’ Write Marker.

Don’t you just LOVE this designer series paper??? Here’s the next tab….

It’s kind of like a who you are is where you where when scrapbook… here we are at Sleuth’s Mystery Dinner Show in Orlando Florida.. DS, DD, myself and DH just a few years ago… it’s amazing that our kids have grown and changed so much.. fond memories, a wonderful evening!  This photo came from the keychain memento we purchase at the dinner… LOL, I came across it while cleaning closets last weekend!

The DSP heart punch has a lovely Chantilly Crochet Trim ruffle, and basic jewel Pearls… it’s popped onto the honeycomb DSP.

On to the next page…. SURPRISE!!  It’s a gift card page!  Now, wouldn’t that be a fabulous scrapbook page to find near the end of a mini album?  SFF_SharonField_4

LOL.. don’t get too excited… that $150.00 gift card has been long gone!!  The tiny oval punch was attached to the gift card with a mini glue dot to facilitate pulling the card out of the pocket page… added a little rhinestone bling too… just for fun!

The tiny butterflies and birds are from the Clearly for You stamp set.. I extended the birds’ branch with a pacific point stampin’ write marker… easy enough to do with a straight edge and a fine point marker!

All that stuff was on the outside of the mini Valentine Scrapbook / card… but this is the inside of the actual 5 1/4” square card… A flourish from the Bliss Stamp Set was stamped in River Rock Classic Ink, and then an appropriate Occasional Quotes sentiment added with Not Quite Navy Classic Ink.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Sketch Frenzy Friday Mini Valentine Scrapbook Card and gift card holder…. and hope you’re inspired to play along with the design team this week!  The next stop on the sketch frenzy Friday design team tour is Tammy Baldwin be sure to visit her blog and all subsequent blog tour stops!

See you tomorrow with another Super Saturday Tutorial!  I’m racking my brain for fresh and fun ideas to share!
