CAS Plant Hope a clean and simple brayer card

Another one of my favorite stamps sets… Plant Hope has become a staple in my stamp room!  I love the palm, standing pine, and bonsai images… and the sentiment as well.  Today’s quick card share uses the Plant Hope stamp set along with three others… Wonderfully Worn, En Francias, and Hodgepodge Happiness.  Very quick and simple, this CAS brayer card goes together quite quickly and is one of my Leadership general session swaps this year!

I thought a tropical palm tree on a sunny bright day could serve as comic relief and a conversation starter for the dreary weather we are facing in Tennessee!  The forecast is not too kind, and already I have heard from several people who are cancelling their trip!

Having driven in snow and ice for several years, I’m not as worried about the weather as I am about inexperienced or aggressive drivers… slow and steady wins the race… so if you’re on the road with me… let’s all get there safely!  Personally, I am hoping for a break, good weather and a safe trip for all!

Stamps and Supplies for today’s CAS Plant Hope Quick & Easy Card Share:

  • Stamps:  Plant Hope, Hodgepodge Happiness, Wonderfully Worn, En Francais
  • Card Stock:  Marina Mist, Whisper White, Basic Black
  • Classic Ink:  Certainly Celery, Marina Mist, Basic Black
  • Accessories:  1 3/8” circle punch, decorative label punch, brayer, stampin dimensionals, SNAIL, Basic Black Stampin Write Marker and 1/8”grosgrain, grid paper

Today’s Tips for Paper Crafters from Created By You:

  • When applying SNAIL or double sided adhesive to the back of narrow ribbon, place the ribbon on a slippery surface… I often use the left behind paper from Stampin’ Dimensionals.  When I roll the adhesive onto the ribbon, it ONLY sticks to the ribbon, not the paper!  No sloppy gooey or sticky edges are left behind.. .MAGIC!
  • Use grid paper to line up cardstock and stamp when using directional large format background stamps.  Lining up both the cardstock along grid lines, and the large En Francais background stamp along a parallel line before easing over onto the cardstock will keep everything straight/aligned/and even!
  • If you’re having difficulty punching card stock with an older paper punch, try punching an aluminum can several times to sharpen.
  • Sometimes a cleaner punched edge may be achieved by inserting a sheet of printer paper behind the cardstock you are punching, and then punch out card stock and printer paper simultaneously.

Stamp and Assemble Tips:

  • Stamp/brayer focal image:  Brayer Certainly Celery, Brayer Marina Mist from opposite end, Ink up Palm Tree image from the plant hope stamp set with basic black classic ink and stamp onto brayer-ed card stock.
  • Line up Cardstock and inked En Francais Stamp  with parallel lines on your grid paper before dropping onto card stock to keep lines straight and parallel, repeat with Wonderfully Worn Stamp Set.
  • Align and attach ribbon, focal image layers (see today’s tips for paper crafters )
  • After stamping sentiment from Hodgepodge happiness with Basic Black Classic Ink, punch out image with 1-3/8” circle punch.
  • Attach to Basic Black Designer Label Punch, outline with the brush tip of a stampin’ write marker, and use a stampin’ dimensional to attach to card front.

Wish all of us travelers lots of luck, once I arrive, I hope to share people, places and faces with all of you!

Hugs,

Sharon

Very nice card!! Love the 'blues' and of course the palm tree. I haven't seen that 'thanks' stamp before. I really like it.
The weather is dreary back home, too, Sharon. But at least it's not snow and/or ice. Severe T-storms in some places. Stay safe out there. Hope weather lets up so people will come!

I would love to ask you a question, and hope that you respond....how did you brayer this card so beautifully without any lines from the brayer? The colors blend together like I've never seen a brayered card blend before.
