UDI_color_challenge_012

Loved the colors in this weeks’ challenge… but still had to really work it to come up with a card I liked.  LOL, there are a lot of rejects on my stamp table this week!  Hope you like my card!  The background for the stamped focal image from Jut Believe was created with my Acrylic Stamp Weathered Background Technique.  It’s a really quick and fun WOW technique!

UDI12_sharonField

Yes, I tied the triple loop bow on my fingers… thought it resembled a butterfly a little bit.  This card was very simple, easy to create and quick to make too… Not quite the bling I was imaging when I first peered at that lovely bracelet though!

Stamps and supplies used in today’s card share:

  • Stamps:  Just Believe, Tiny Tags
  • Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Concord Crush, Brushed Silver
  • Classic Inks:  So Saffron, Certainly Celery
  • Accessories:  1/8” Very Vanilla Taffeta ribbon, stampin write markers, metallic brads, victoria lace, big shot machine, vintage wallpaper textured embossing folder, mini glue dots, stampin dimensionals, jewelry tag, metallic eyelets, crop a dile tool, acrylic block

Hope you will play along with the Utah Divas International Design Team this week… visit the team blog for more fabulous ideas using the color combination featured in today’s sketch challenge!  And.. if you happen to see Santa somewhere along the way, show him this fabulous bracelet LOL!

Today’s Snowflake Card Share:

Last Saturday’s Super Saturday Tutorial featured Seminole Paper Piecing, and a rhinestone snowflake.  I’ve had a lot of questions, emails, and comments about that snowflake… everyone seemed to like it a LOT, so I thought today I would share another card featuring Rhinestone Crystal Snowflakes!

1129_sharonField

How I make the Rhinestone Snowflakes

The snowflakes are very easy to create, basically you start with the center rhinestone, and then add six around the center rhinestone.  Varying the size of the rhinestones yields different effects.  The small rhinestones above the ribbon have the largest rhinestone in the Basic Jewels package in the center, 6 medium rhinestones around it, and then 6 of the smaller rhinestones extended from that point.

The largest snowflake by contrast is made with 13 of the largest rhinestones, and 6 medium rhinestones were placed on the extensions.  The tiniest snowflake (below the ribbon) was made entirely with the smallest rhinestones in the Basic Jewels pack.

When constructing the rhinestone snowflakes, after placing the center rhinestone, I worked with two rhinestones at a time to place them around the center stone, placing them opposite (across from) one another.  This made it easier to keep the same distance and balance in the rhinestone snowflakes.

About the Ribbon Twist

The ribbon on this card was twisted gently and attached on the back with mini glue dots before tying a bow to the strand.  The organza ribbon adds a bit of dimension yet no bulk when twisted and applied to the card in this manner.  Kind of fun… looking at it now, I think it would also be fun to ink just the edges of the ribbon with a sponge dauber and Real Red Classic Ink before twisting… maybe a candy cane appearance?  Hmm.. maybe I’ll give that a try tooSmile

Stamps and Supplies used in today’s Snowflake Flurry Rhinestone Card:

  • Stamps:  Four the Holidays
  • Cardstock:  Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Brushed Silver
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Accessories:  Organza Ribbon, Heat Tool, Silver Embossing Powder, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots

Hope to see you back here tomorrow for another challenge from the Utah Divas International Design Team Color Challenges!  It's a real doozie and you won’t want to miss it Smile

Hugs,

Sharon

Are you Ready for Cyber Monday? Elegant Card Share…

Are you all shopped out or just warming up for Cyber Monday?  I have to confess… I did actually go to a couple stores on Black Friday and after two small purchases, I returned to the safety and sanity of my home sweet home!  Well, tomorrow is Cyber Monday and although I’d like to say I’ll be shopping online, I probably won’t be… mostly because I have NO Clue what to get my DH, DD and others for Christmas!  So… I will be here at home preparing for a craft show and luncheon on Thursday, and of course taking photos to share with all of you for future blog posts as well!

If you happen to be a Cyber Monday shopper, be sure to check out my online Stampin’ Up! Store… I’m sure there will be some fabulous deals you won’t want to pass up.  Still stumped?  Consider a Stampin’ Up! Gift Certificate for those crafty friends and family members.  Gift Certificated ordered directly through me will come with a special handmade Christmas Card too!  Use the Contact Me form at the top of the page (or just click the link I just gave you) Smile  I personally know several people who are hoping Santa will bring them a Big Shot Machine and/or Dies!

Today’s card share if a fun layered Black, Vanilla, and Cherry Cobbler Card.  I recently shared this with a couple of my customers and received a LOT of oohs and ahh’s… so hope you like it as well!

Merry& Bright

I just love this color combination… it was pretty tricky punching the bird on the branch punch upside down and guesstimating where I might land on the poinsettia in the Designer Series Paper Smile I really wanted the Cherry Cobbler print to resemble bird feathers and face to the right, so that necessitated punching upside down.. LOL  Oh, the challenges I present myself!

Black Flourish Designer Jewels Crystals were added for the bird’s eye, and on the greeting.  I also punched out an extra wing which I popped up with a Stampin’ Dimensional to add a little depth.  LOVE the newsprint Designer Series Paper… thought the musical notes and a songbird were appropriately matched on this card too.

I know you’re going to ask… The Black Designer Jewel Crystals have really been overlooked by many and may be found in the Holiday Mini Catalog on page 8 in the top right corner.  I used paper snips to cut apart the jewels and then perfectly place them where needed on my card.  Of course, Black Brads would work as well.. but I thought the Crystals really added a little pizzazz to the musical card.

The background behind the bird is stamped using the Christmas Collage Stamp on Very Vanilla Cardstock.  At first I thought I would color it in, but after placing the bird on it, decided it was better to leave it as a stand alone background for my bird.  Another Holiday Mini Catalog item, Christmas Collage may be found on page 20 and is a large format background stamp… what you see on my card is a small, isolated portion from the stamp.

Stamps and Supplies used on today’s Christmas Song Bird Card Share:

  • Stamps:  Bright Christmas, Christmas Collage
  • Classic Ink:  Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black
  • Paper:  Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Basic Black Cardstock, Deck the Halls and Newsprint Designer Series Papers
  • Accessories:  Extra Large Bird on Branch Punch, Black Flourish Designer Jewels, paper snips, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding

I almost forgot to mention:  there are just two more days remaining to sign up with Stampin’ Up! at just $87.50… it’s quite a deal and a great way to start your business your way.  Visit my online Stampin’ up Site, Click the Join Now Button and then enter the password StampTeam to join today!

Super Saturday Tutorial: Seminole Paper Piecing Trim

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday?  Are you all shopped out from the Black Friday Sales Events?  Take your shoes off, sit back, relax and take a moment to stamp and enjoy today’s Super Saturday Tutorial!  Today’s technique tutorial reminds me of Seminole pieced fabric braids from quilting days!  LOL… it’s also a bit like gum wrapper braiding too!  This Seminole Paper Pieced border is a perfect non-ribbon accent for cards and scrapbook pages too!

I can’t tell you how many times I hear comments from people who don’t want to ‘waste’ double sided designer series paper!   They’re often concerned about not being able to use both sides of the paper and effectively showcase both patterns on the paper.  It doesn’t bother me at all… I find that I often prefer one side over the other, so just use the pattern I like Smile  Today’s Super Saturday tutorial will showcase both sides of the paper at once… so there you go, how fun is that!

Here’s a sample of the Seminole Paper Piercing trim on my card featuring this décor element aka trim…

CreatedByYouSeminolePiecing

PB240514

You can see how the double sided designer series paper is fully utilized using this simple technique.. kind of fun, isn’t it?

Stampin’ Supplies Used for Today’s Super Saturday Seminole Paper Piecing Tutorial:

  • Double Sided Designer Series Paper (Deck the Halls DSP used in today’s Tutorial and Sample)
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Pencil
  • Bone Folder
  • Ruler or Grid Paper

Step by Step Instructions:

  • Cut 1/2” x 12” piece of double sided Designer Series Paper.  Tip:  it’s much easier to remove 1/2” from a 12” piece of paper by aligning the left edge 1/2” smaller than the whole paper i.e. at 11.5” and achieve a straight cut than it is to align and cut at 1/2”.
  • Using pencil and ruler (or grid paper) make a mark at 5-3/8” along the top edge of the paper and 6-1/4” along the lower edge of the paper.  You can see my pencil marks just to the left of each arrow in the photo below.PB240489
  • Make your first fold in the paper by folding along the diagonal formed by connecting the two pencil marks.  Tip:  I like to use my grid paper to make sure the two extensions of paper are aligned at 90 degrees and straight.  (Don’t pay attention to the measurements displayed on the grid paper) SmilePB240490
  • Next, fold the right extension down so that it is parallel to the left extension and a triangle or “arrow” is formed at the tip.PB240492
  • Turn the paper over…
PB240493
  • Fold the right “leg” of the paper across and over the left leg… keep the legs perpendicular to one another (at 90 degrees).  The fold forms a perfect corner with the upper left corner of the contrasting triangle.

PB240494

  • Next, tuck the leg you just folded UNDER the leg you just crossed…see where this is going?PB240495
  • The Seminole paper pieced ‘braid is being formed Smile  Next, fold the left leg down so that it is again parallel to the right leg of the braid.PB240497
  • Double check as you fold, that both right and left sides of the braid are straight and even.
  • Now… turn the paper over, and repeat the last three folds until the braid is completed.  These pictures are from various stages in development of the braided piece…PB240500
  • Folding the right leg across, tuck under, and fold the left leg down…PB240502
PB240504

PB240512

  • If you don’t check your edges as you go, you could have an uneven braid edge like the one in the photo below… be sure to take the time to align as you go!PB240516b
  • Unraveling the braid produces an interesting paper trim as well:PB240515

Hope you enjoyed today’s Super Saturday Seminole Paper Piecing Tutorial!  I’d love to see the cards and pages you create using this technique, and would be happy to feature your work on my blog as well.. simply create a card or Scrapbook page with this technique, and I’ll put your creation on my blog and link back to your blog or online gallery as well!

Happy Shopping!

Sketch Frenzy Friday Black Friday Card

Did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday?  LOL when I made the card for this week’s sketch challenge, I didn’t even think about it being posted on Black Friday… must have been a subliminal thing… you’ll see!  Here is this week’s Sketch Frenzy Friday Design Team Sketch challenge created by design team member Tammy Baldwin!

Sketch 112610-TammyBaldwin

LOVED this sketch!!  Love the layers, and the design… a little unusual yet not challenging at all.. hope you’ll play along!

I already gave you a hint of what my card would be… and you’ve probably already guessed what I meant by Black Friday Smile But, the actual inspiration for my card came from the en-pointe focal image in Tammy’s sketch.  I knew immediately that I wanted to use one of the images from the Cute by the Inch Hostess Level One Stamp Set in the Stampin Up! Idea Book and Catalog!  I also knew that I wanted to use the of the pretty patterned papers from the Love Letters designer series paper, and that I did not want to create another Christmas card!  Not that there’s anything wrong with another Christmas card… but I just wanted to step out of the Christmas thing for a moment!  Here’s my card:

sffll1610slf

After turning Tammy’s sketch on end I stamped 6 of the medallion images from the cute by the inch stamp set, and punched them out using a 1” square punch… unfortunately, SU doesn’t have a one inch punch in the catty… but I have one in my stash!  The centers of each of the medallions were pierced using a paper piercing tool and mat pack… I added basic black brads to 5 of the squares, and an antique brad to the last square, which would ultimately become my focal image.

This card kind of evolved on my stamp table.. I had my medallions, and brads… and decided to back 5 of them with dsp, and then popped it up onto a strip of basic black cardstock.  I started to put the sixth one on dsp (designer series paper) but it just didn’t look right… so added a 1-1/8”square of basic black cardstock behind the last medallion image before popping it up on a 1-1/2" piece of designer series paper.  Two more layers of cardstock were added to complete the focal image.

After gluing down the 5 medallions/designer series paper strip, I positioned and attached the en pointe medallion using stampin’ dimensionals… only under the center and right side, so the left side of the medallion would sit flush on the already popped up side bar medallions.

So… still needing a little something, it was at this point that I decided to add the paper piercing… a little tricky when you do it at this stage in the game, but it worked… adding a little extra something to the focal image!

I happened to have a left over ribbon/lace knot sitting on my stampin’ table… so that was added with a couple mini glue dots.

The sketch showed a greeting in the lower right edge of the card… oops, so I grabbed the teeny tiny wishes and tiny tag punch to create a greeting, added a basic black brad, a rhinestone, and popped the greeting onto the card as well!

See what I mean… evolved!  Sometimes, it just happens that way… if I’m lucky!

Hope you enjoyed today’s card share… next blog on the Sketch Frenzy Friday Mini Blog hop is our very own sketch designer Tammy Baldwin – Creative Apple Scrampers!  Hope you’ll stop by and say a quick hello!

Stamps and Supplies used in today’s SFF112610 Card Share:

  • Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes, Cute by the Inch
  • Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Basic Black
  • Designer Series Paper:  Love Letters
  • Classic Ink:  Basic Black
  • Accessories:  Antique Brads, Neutrals Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Jewelry Tag Punch, mat pack, paper piercing tool, Chantilly lace, 5/8” satin ribbon – Basic Black

Creative Sketches Christmas Card… and Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours… hope this holiday finds you safe, warm, and with friends and/or family!  Although it is almost an American tradition, I plan NOT to over-eat… and enjoy the time I spend with my family and close friends!

Today’s Creative Sketches Card Challenge is all wrapped up like a gift… with a whole lot of bling too!  CS08 was such a simple sketch design, I just had to pull out the bling! I hope you’ll play along with the Creative Sketches Design Team this week!  This week we have a sketch, and a theme:  Holiday!  Here is the sketch, created by my blogging friend Tee Thompson of Green Isles Crafts:

CS08-Holiday-Nov-25,-2010

And here’s my bling card… perfect for a gift card presentation!  Lots of bling and rhinestones here!  I took my bling cue from the sparkly candy lane designer paper… from Stampin Up!  Not a whole lot of stamping here, but definitely a whole lot of bling!  I hope you like it!

CS08_Slf

The rhinestones Jewel Basics are packed in a straight line, and individually.. so all I had to do was pull off a line of rhinestones and position them perfectly along the ribbon and cardstock to frame the bling card ‘package’.  The photo doesn’t really show it well, but there are also teeny tiny rhinestones on the Do not open tag… 7 all together!  I really love the assortment of rhinestones on the layered snowflake punch… and adding a second whisper white snowflake behind the blinged up baja breeze snowflake added a little more depth and dimension to the simple card design.

Stamps and Supplies Used in today’s Card Share:

Stamps:  Winter Post

Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White, Baja Breeze

Classic Ink:  Real Red

Designer Series Paper:  Candy Lane (from the Holiday Mini Catalog)

Accessories:  Designer Label and Snowflake Punches, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals, red narrow Taffeta and 5/8” satin Whisper White Ribbon

I’ve finally recovered from a terrible case of the flu (thanks a bunch Fran!!!)  And after two weeks of staying close to home… and a cancelled one of my Senior Stamping Sessions last week, I’m booking workshops, craft shows, and luncheons!  I’ve got a lot coming up, so If you’d like to host a workshop please call and get on my schedule early, I’m already booking for Sale-A-Bration Workshops!

Sharon

Diva Coffee Break Designs Simple Color Challenge

Looking for a quick and easy color challenge?  This week’s Diva Coffee Break Designs Team may be just what you’re looking for.  DCBD204 is a very simple three color challenge.  As with all color challenges, you are encouraged to use all the colors shown, plus one neutral cardstock or color (Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black.. you get the picture!)  This week’s challenge colors are Rich Razzleberry, Pretty in Pink, and Early Espresso, aka pink, purple, and brown.  DCBD 204

So, What comes to mind when you look at these colors?  Ice Cream?  Chocolate?  Little girls?  Sometimes when I look at a color challenge, I am fortunate enough to have an idea pop right into my head… sometimes I even put my hand on the right stamp set first try… and that’s what actually happened for this week’s Diva challenge.. LOL, a rare occasion, but fun when it does occur!

What popped into my head?  The name Pretty in Pink says it all… little girls, babies… the Baby Bundle Stamp Set... and a little bling…perfect!  Here’s my card:

DCBD204_slf

The images on this card were stamped on Watercolor Paper… I don’t happen to own an early espresso Craft Ink Pad, so chose the alternate embossing method:  Classic Ink and Versamark!

  • After preheating my heat tool, I dusted the entire surface of watercolor paper with an embossing buddy… this prevents embossing powder from sticking in places you really don’t want it.
  • The image was first inked with Versamark ink, and then immediately with Early Espresso Classic Ink.
  • Stamped the image onto watercolor paper…
  • and then sprinkled with Clear Embossing Powder.
  • After shaking off excess powder, the pre-heated heat tool was used to emboss the images.

Embossing completed, the image was ready to paint using ink from the lid of my classic ink pads and an aqua painter, working from the outside, in.  I purposefully left a little lighter or white area around the heart and crossbar on the buggy to make it pop a bit more.

The wheels were colored with a stampin’ write marker, as were the darker pink images on the buggy.  I had to sneak a little more color into the picture, adding a shadow of bashful blue around the buggy image.. just to make it pop out a bit more.  A sponge dauber was used to add color along all the white edges of cardstock.

Love the double loop bow… which I tie on my fingers.  I happened to see a post somewhere earlier this week where a lady tied a triple loop bow on the tines of a fork… I’m going to have to give that a try!

After all the coloring was done and the image was completely dry, bling was added to various points on the image… basic Rhinestone Jewels are so fun to use!

Hope you liked today’s DCBD 204 Color Challenge!  Check out the Diva Coffee Break Designs Team Blog … we’d love to have you play along with us this week!

Tomorrow is the American Thanksgiving Holiday… hope you have a wonderful holiday filled with laughter, family, and friends!  Gosh, and Christmas is right around the corner… time to mail out those handmade Christmas Cards!

Hugs,

Sharon

UDI Color Challenge UDI11

Always a fun and creative challenge, the Utah Divas International Design Team has been working hard to bring you fresh ideas inspired by the weekly color challenges!  This week’s UDI11 Color Challenge is inspired by a little girls’ holiday dress.  Colorful colors of Regal Rose, Perfect Plum, Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla… they look great on the dress, bet you’re wondering what I came up with!

UDI_color_challenge_011

To create my custom stamped card for this color challenge, I dusted off my stamps, cleaned off my table and set all the cardstock colors in front of me, and waited for them to speak to me… it was a very long wait LOL… But after a little trial and error, I came up with a cute combination card featuring flowing flowers from the Fast and Fabulous Hostess Level II stamp set!  The greeting was borrowed from another stamp set.. Thoughts and Prayers.   Delicate floral images and a bell pull came to mind as I added Basic Pearl Jewels to flower centers and brad heads.

You hear me rave all the time about the lovely antique brads… and this one brushed with vanilla (it comes that way) seemed to fit appropriately on my pear pizzaz bell pull, don’t you think?

UDI11_SharonField_UDI Color Challenges

Faux stitching along the left edge of the card could probably been left off, but I thought it needed a little something to balance the bulky pear pizzaz ribbon embellishment.  Maybe, maybe not… The floral image was water-colored and then inside edges of floral images were markered over with the brush tip of my stampin’ write markers.

Well, I managed to get ALL those colors in there, can’t wait to see what Gretchen tosses us next week!  She does like to challenge us with a LOT of colors!  Hope you’ll visit the Utah Divas International Blog and play along with us this week!

Hugs,

Sharon

Clean and Simple Snow Swirled Cards

One of my new hostesses recently ordered the Snow Swirled Stamp Set… to thank her, I decided to make her a set of clean and simple (CAS) cards featuring this fabulous winter and Christmas Stamp Set!  She was delighted by the gift… these cards are very quick to replicate, suitable for beginners, stamp camps, and seniors as well!

This first one uses the Northern Flurry Embossing folder, and the snowflakes were highlighted with a sponge dauber and Marina Mist Classic Ink…  A tiny bit of faux stitching enhances the lower right corner of the card, a Basic Pearl Jewel was attached to the tree top, and a band of Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon added to the focal image.

PB150432

The inside of the card was decorated as well:PB150433

Here’s a second Clean and Simple (CAS) card featuring again, the Snow Swirled Stamp Set, a little ruched ribbon (tutorial on my tutorial tab), and color was added to the trees using a sponge dauber and Marina Mist Classic Ink as well.  The photo does not show it very well, but three Basic Rhinestone Jewels are attached below the Seasons’ Greeting sentiment:

PB150434

One more CAS card also uses the Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, and Silver Tinsel!PB150441

There was a fourth card… LOL but I forgot to take the photo.. need to slow down!!

Hope you enjoyed today’s Clean and Simple, Quick and Easy Card Shares!  Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a really fun card for the Utah Divas International Design Team.. I hope you’ll play along!

Two Quick Christmas Cards… Acrylic Block Stamping Too!

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s step by step Super Saturday Tutorial!  I know a LOT of people have eagerly been waiting for me to post it!

Two very quick Christmas cards today… I’m recovering from a weekend craft show.. whew!!  This has been a totally crazy busy month for me!  I’m going to keep it short and sweet today, so have fun with your family for a wonderful day of rest!

The first CAS (Clean and Simple) card uses the Snow Swirled Stamp Set, and an acrylic block to create a stunningly simple card.  I love the Basic Jewel Rhinestones, they really make this one glisten!  The Whisper White card base was cut 5.5” x 8.5” and scored at 4.25” to create a basic card fold-over.  A second piece of Whisper White Cardstock was cut at 3.75” x 5” to create a stamped layer.  The Acrylic Block Stamping tutorial can be found on my tutorials tab at the top of the page Smile along with a multitude of other free tutorials as well!

After stamping, the edges were sponged all around using a sponge dauber, and the focal image was popped up onto the card base… very quick and simple, CAS card!

PB150440

This second card is both a card and a gift!  The dangling ornament is removable and reversible as well!  Something about snowflakes reminds me of cold crisp winter nights, and blue and white colors… must have been those cold Michigan winters!

I hope you enjoyed today’s quick and easy card shares, tomorrow I’ll be featuring several Clean and Simple (CAS) cards using the Snow Swirled Stamp set.. If you haven’t finished your Christmas Cards yet, you just might want to check out the post!

Step by Step Super Saturday Tutorial for Gift Card Tag

  • Cut Cardstock 2-3/4” x 12”
  • Score at 1”, 1-7/8”, 2-3/4”, and 7-5/8” as shown by the dashed lines on the photograph below:

  • Fold Cardstock Valley-Mountain-Valley-Valley as shown in the photo below:GiftCardTag2
  • Center Gift card just above 1-7/8” scored line, and trace with a pencil as shown by solid line in photo below:GiftCardTag3
  • Re-fold on 1-7/8” scored line, and use word window punch to remove gift card outline… You will have to do this in two steps, as the word window punch is not long enough to span the length of the opening required for the Gift Card.GiftCardTag4
  • Move the Word Window punch over, and remove remaining outlined area:GiftCardTag5
  • If you end up with a misaligned edge, it’s ok, simply trim with your paper snips and remove rough edges with a sanding block.  This area will not be visible anyway!
  • Now, re-fold the first three scored lines Valley-Mountain-Valley, so that the gift card slot is nestled between the front and back layers… Use a stapler to secure the bottom edge of the gift card holder.GiftCardTag8
  • The Gift Card Tag will close similar to a matchbook!
  • All that you have left to do is decorate the Gift Card Tag!

Decorating the Gift Card Tag:

GiftCardTag01 - Copy

  • For the tag shown at the top/right of my blog, I first cut DSP 2-3/4” x 4-1/4” and adhered to the front of the matchbook tag.
  • The Crop-a-Dile Tool was used to punch the 3/16” hole and set the Jumbo Eyelet on the tag, 1/2” from the top of the tag edge.
  • Chantilly Lace and Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding were layered and threaded through the hole in the Jumbo Eyelet.
  • Using needle nose pliers, I gently pried the prongs of the Antique Brad wide open… and then flattened out any kinks in the prongs.
  • The opened Antique Brad was then wrapped around layered ribbon, and closed on the back.
  • Basic Jewel Pearls were then added to the flat surface of the Jumbo Eyelet.
  • A contrasting piece of Designer Series Paper was cut 1” x 2-3/4” to cover the bottom half of the tag matchbook, and staple.
  • Next, Victoria lace was attached using glue dots before and after each fold (see next three photos):
    • One Glue Dot beneath the fold…GiftCardTag11 (2)
    • Open up the lace, and place one glue dot on the cardstock next to the lace…GiftCardTag11
    • Pull the lace back over the glue dot to attach.GiftCardTag12
  • The reason I used glue dots is because they are super sticky, and they didn’t seep through the lace and stick to other things Smile.
  • So… all you have to do is embellish your Gift Card Holder Tag!
  • A piece of DSP was cut out and popped up on the tag.
  • A 1” circle was cut from the Newsprint DSP, and edges were sponged with Early Espresso Classic Ink using a sponge dauber.
  • Stamped 4 you onto a scrap of Very Vanilla Cardstock and punched out with 1/2” circle punch…
  • Crystal Effects were used to highlight parts of the tag.
  • Tombow Multi Adhesive was used to attach Champagne Glass Glitter.
  • Well, you get the picture… here’s a close up:GiftCardTag13
