A Diva Coffee Break Designs Thank You!

The week following Christmas holiday is always quiet around our home… perhaps yours it too!  This week the Diva Coffee Break Designs Team takes a brief break, sending out a big round of THANKS to all who have played along and followed the design team this year.  DCBD  Challenges will resume in January beginning with a fabulous sketch challenge… we hope you’ll return and play along with the design team as well!

In the spirit of a round of THANKS!  Here is my thank you card for all of my readers and DCBD followers as well!

This simple brayer card was created for you using the Plant Hope Stamp Set, sponges, daubers, and of course a brayer!!  The greeting was borrowed from the Trendy Trees stamp set.  I love layering on color with markers after images have been stamped… it is a quick and easy way to add more depth and dimension to the image!

Here’s a close up of random layered color on the palm trees, it almost looks like a comic book print, LOL!

After stamping the trees with Basic Black Classic Ink, Old Olive and Soft Suede Stampin write markers were used to add color to the otherwise solemn trees.  The color is not added continuously, but rather with gentle strokes using the fine tip end of the dual tipped marker, giving it a more natural feel.

Stamps, Ink, and Supplies used for today’s DCBD Brayer Thank You Card

  • Stamps:  Plant Hope, Trendy Trees
  • Classic Ink:  Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight
  • Cardstock:  Old Olive, Whisper White, Pacific Point, Very Vanilla
  • Accessories:  Brayer, Stampin Sponges, Sponge Daubers, Mini Library Clips, Stampin’ Write Markers, Extra Large Modern Label Punch, Post It Notes

Would you like to see some of the other cards I’ve made using the brayer?  Check out the brayer tutorials featured on the tutorials tab here on Created by You!

Hope your week is restful, fun, and filled with adventure… see you tomorrow with a fun little card for the Creative Sketches Design Team Challenge!  I think you’re going to like the fresh and fun card design and colors!
