A Vintage Affair: UDI8 Color Challenge

It’s Tuesday, and time for another terrific Utah Divas International Color Challenge!  This week’s Challenge brings us cardstock and ink colors of Tempting Turquoise, Old Olive, Night Of Navy, Perfect Plum, and Baja Breeze… a whole lot of color packed into one simple card design!

UDI_color_challenge_008

To do this challenge, I pulled out scraps of cardstock in all the colors, plus Very Vanilla, Whisper White, and Basic Black.  After looking at the group for a moment, I decided that my one color addition would be Very Vanilla (we’re allowed to add one of those as neutrals.)  The cardstock grouping screamed “Make me Vintage”… and this card was born:

I grabbed just a few of my favorite Stampin’ Up! vintage stamp elements… Artistic Etchings, Notably Ornate, En Francais, A to Z, and Elements of Style, a sheet of each designer series paper, jewels, brads, lace, dimensionals, tiny clips, sponges and daubers… and then experimented with color!  Each time I’ve stamped the Swallow image from the Notably Ornate Stamp set, I’ve felt it lacking… so this time opted to stamp the swooping bird with tempting turquoise ink and then layer on more color with the Elements of Style Roses.  Lot’s going on here.. but really fun to make!

Hope you’ll play along with the Divas this week… simply upload your color creation to your online gallery and then visit the Utah Divas International Blog to upload your project.  I look forward to viewing your creations, and visiting your blogs and galleries.  Although I’ve been a bit neglect in doing so for the past couple of (very busy) weeks, I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and hope to come up for air in a week or so.. one can only hope!!

Sharon: So, is this UDI8 Color Challenge/Diva blog post the 2nd clue? There is little mention of the contest except that Ilina is either #3 (what you've posted) or #4 what's in the Jester box). This is all very confusing, but I'm stickin' with it because I would really LOVE to own a Big Shot!!

Thanks for all you do and for sharing your creative juices with the rest of your subjects!
