DCBD202 Challenge, a Clean and Simple Card with Twists

Welcome to the Wednesday Diva Coffee Break Design Team Color Challenge #202!  This week we have a simple color challenge #DCBD202… just three colors:  Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Concord Crush ++ Plus a neutral if desired.  So… Clean and simple colors, I decided to make a Clean and Simple Card… well, with a twist!

DCBD 202

My twist:  Texture and curves!  Using a corner rounder, I rounded two opposing corners on all layers of this card to provide a kind of unusual but flowing shaped card.  The clean and simple flowing design seemed to call for a simple stamped image as well, so I used the brush end of my Stampin’ Write Markers in the colors of the challenge to add ink direct to one of the stamped images from the Silhouette Sentiments Hostess Level One stamp set.

Isn’t this fun?  I love the flow of the shape of this card.  The texture was added with my Big Shot Machine using the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder… a stampers’ MUST have!  The focal image was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals (rated number one by paper crafters world wide).

Hope you’ll play along with the design team this week… come on… it’s really a lot of fun!  Upload your handcrafted stamped item (it doesn’t even have to be a card… ) to your online gallery in Flickr, Photoshop, Splitcoast stampers, etc.… and then visit the Diva Coffee Break Design Team blog to add your creation with the linky tool at the bottom of today’s DCBD202 Post.  We love to see your creations!

I really like your 'twists' of texture and curves! Very handsome card! I love that stamp, too! So delicate.

Corner rounding of opposite corners does create a different effect. I forget to do that but really like the look of this card.
