Welcome to Sketch Frenzy Friday! Today’s sketch was created by Connie Smith / High Desert Stamper. It has a kind of nautical feel to it, don’t you think? It may be the colors used in the sketch, LOL…. I was a bit stumped on this one… a lot of ‘white space’… and then it came to me! I hope you’ll grab your favorite stamps and play along with the design team this week… I just gave you a fabulous idea, right?
The tag could be a little row boat… and the ribbon a nautical pennant… see where I’m going? Well, I didn’t go there… LOL. Instead, I chose FOUR different stamp sets from the shelf in my stamping studio… and turned the two ribbons into a strings of pennants using the stamp set Party Hearty… Each pennant was colored with a stampin’ write marker, and then stamped on an angle similar to the one in the sketch challenge. Repeating this process, a second row was also stamped…
Really bright and colorful isn’t it? The fluff around the “for you” was created by scoring all the way across two scallop circle punches from notch to notch. Next, I clipped into the centers of each scallop circle along 1/2 of a score line. After folding mountain/valley style, the two 1/2 circles were joined with Multi-purpose adhesive.
A fun and festive design, with a few “unexpected elements”…. I’d love to see your designs composition!
