Cards for Seniors… and Tecnhiques too!

I just love the time I spend with Senior Groups!!  They have so many interesting stories and life experiences to share… and there’s never a dull moment.  Our afternoon stamping sessions are often filled with laughter, a little poking fun.. and of course stamping and techniques too!

When working with the Senior groups, I do a lot of preparing… pre-cut, pre-tie ribbons, pre-punching, and pre-embossing, which helps to ensure that everyone in attendance will not only have fun… but also complete a couple fabulous card projects which they are proud to share with family and friends!

Today’s cards are two which I’ve done during recent Senior Card Making Sessions.

In this first sample, featuring the Watercolor Trio Stamp set… The Seniors sponged color onto the background using a PRE-cut oval mask.  The images were inked with markers, huffed with a little (spare) hot air… and stamped DTP (Direct to Paper).

Of course, when there’s a technique like sponging, masking, or marker on stamps.. I always make sure to demo those things to show the group just how simple and easy it is to achieve stamping success!

Here’s another Senior Stamping Card… this one uses the Cute Birthday Gift Bag from the Birthday Bakery Stamp set.  The edges of the paper on the bag, the polka dots, and heart were all colored with a stampin write marker.  An aqua painter was used to add a little shadow below the bag, and a 2-way glue pen was used to add dazzling diamonds to the shopping bag.

Both cards are very nice, but I'm partial to the 'bag' card. I love the sentiment too. So cute.
