Making Cards 101 - Standard Card Sizes and Cutting

I’ve been quite busy this week and have had very little time for posting.  So today, I thought I’d share a resource which I put together for my beginning card construction classes.  I hope you find it useful!

Cutting Measurements and Envelope Sizes

·         Standard (A2) card size is 5 ½” x 4 ¼” (or a half sheet of 8.5 x 11” cardstock)

o   Cut 8 ½ x 5 ½” and score at 4 ¼”

o   or 4 ¼” x 11” and score at 5 ½”

o   Stampin’ Up! Ultra Smooth Envelopes

·         Mini Square 3x3 Card  

o   Cut cardstock to 6” x 3” and score at 3”

o   Cut 10 ½” x 5 ¼” score at 5 ¼”

o   9 ¼” x 8” scored at 4”

A NOTE ABOUT ENVELOPE SIZES AND POSTAGE:

Due to mechanization, the USPS may charge additional postage for non-standard envelope sizes and clear envelopes.  Check with the Postal Service before mailing your cards to ensure that the postage is correct for card size, weight, and depth.
