Stampin’ Up! Clearance Sale and NO Blog Candy Winner

Just like any Clearance Rack you will need to act quickly before the your desired item is gone.   Remember, an upside of a Clearance Rack is that new items are continuously being added to the rack.  So check out the Clearance Rack section on a regular basis to see what is available.

How to take advantage of SU!’s Clearance Rack?

  • CLICK HERE (you’ll be taken to my DBWS) and then click on SHOP NOW in the lower right-hand side of my demonstrator business web site (DBWS).
  • Look for CLEARANCE RACK on left-hand side bar of the online store.
  • Check back frequently to see what new items have been added to the Clearance Rack.

So… enough of the advertisement… Last week I posted Blog Candy for one lucky winner.  The ‘candy’ was the “sporting” stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  Sadly, nobody participated and therefore nobody won!  See.. If you had participated, you would have won!  It only takes one entry!

See you tomorrow, and have a great day!

World Card Making Day is just around the corner!  I’m offering two class times, and we’ll be making a fabulous card portfolio complete with 5 standard A-2 cards, and 5 die cut gift enclosure cards.  You won’t want to miss this class.. be sure to sign up soon!  Click on the Classes & Events tab at the top of the page to find out more, or visit my stampin’ Up! website HERE.

Ladies 2-4-5 Treat Holders Thursday Class

The ladies at Christ the King are making candy/treat holders for the fall season...  We normally meet and make cards monthly, but decided to change it up a bit this month.  So, instead of two cards, we will make two treat/candy holders!  Great for classroom gifts, teachers, and scouting... now what child wouldn't want to receive one of thes special little gifts.. Hmmm.. one of them is chocolate.. hmmm...

This treat container is a 3-nugget box.  The nuggets are each wrapped with 1" x 3" Designer Series paper which has been stamped with the pumpkin face from the dormant Autumn Harvest stamp set.

The box base, of soft suede card stock was cut at 2 3/8" x 4" and scored at 1/2" on all four sides.  Clipping in to the cut line on two parallel sides, you then form a box bottom easily, and sturdily with just a dot or two of tombow multi adhesive.

The outside "wrapper" was cut from Naturals Ivory Cardstock measuring 4 3/4" x 3" and then scored at 1", 1.5", 3", and 3.5".  The edges were sponged and sponge-daubered with old olive ink to enhance the floating pumpkin image.

I just love my large oval punch.. it makes the best pumpkins!! I sponge daubered the pumpkin pie pieces with dusty durango classic ink, and stamped one of the pieces with the cute little pumpkin face from autumn harvest with soft suede classic ink too.

Boho blossoms has a great little punch which works very well as the pumpkin topper too...

Well, it's always 2 items for $5.00 at CTK... and here is the second 'treat' holder we made.. this cute little spider bearing candy corn!

I hope the ladies love their treats tomorrow... they can easily replicate these as classroom Moms... and the children will love the special sweet treats too!

Shimmer Paint… Make Your Own Glimmer Mist!

A few weeks ago, playing around with my new shimmer paints from Stampin’ Up!   AND… after a bit of experimentation, I came up with a unique way to use these paints to enhance your Stampin’ Up! card stock like never before!  Here is peek/ close up of just one card I made using my new formula!

sept_shares_pics 033

Can you see the sparkle?  Plain Very Vanilla and Soft Suede Card Stock were sprayed after stamping the Dasher image with Soft Suede Classic Ink… really cool, isn’t it?

Here’s the finished card… much more sparkly in person…

sept_shares_pics 026

Here’s another card I made using the same technique/spray for Stamping 411’s Saturday Sketch...

sept_shares_pics 036

And now, you probably want to know exactly HOW to turn your shimmer paint into a fabulous glimmer spray/mist… AND I’m going to tell you just how I did it too!

Supplies

  • Stampin’ Up! Shimmer Paints* ($5.95 ea.)
    • Champagne Mist #116806
    • Frost White #116854
    • Platinum #116807
  • Rubbing Alcohol from the Grocery Store
  • Mini Mister (available at your Local Craft Store near the generic inks)
  • Card Stock

That’s all you need… Really!  *Shimmer Paint is acid free and perfect for porous surfaces such as paper, fabric and wood.  Each bottle contains .5oz of fluid.  Place an >>order online <<for this new and fun product, and have it delivered right to your door!  You’re going to love it!

Already have your shimmer paint, rubbing alcohol, and mini mister?  Well, here is what you need to do…

Formula

  • Remove spray head/straw of mini mister from bottle, and set aside.
  • Fill Mini Mister to 1/4” below the screw-threads of the bottle with rubbing alcohol.
  • SHAKE shimmer paint vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.
  • Carefully remove the lid of the shimmer paint and set aside
  • DIP the spray head straw end into the shimmer paint and scrape excess paint off along the top inside edge of the mini mister bottle… it’s ok if it just sticks to the upper part.  Rotate to get all the paint off the straw.
  • Repeat the last dipping, scraping action 4 more times.
  • Insert spray nozzle into the Mini Mister, make sure it is on tightly and that the cap is in place.
  • Replace lid on shimmer paint, and set aside
  • Shake the filled mini mister vigorously to ensure it is well mixed.
  • Place your cardstock on a paper protected surface and spray with the mist.
  • The paper will curl when wet… but will relax and flatten when dry.
  • Store the mini mister in a vertical position.. I put mine in a coffee cup on my work table.
  • The paint will settle/separate from the rubbing alcohol after a few moments… you can view the paint color on the bottom of the bottle.  Simply shake to reactivate and make sure there is no paint in the bottom before spraying!

Thanks for stopping by… I know my Christmas Cards are going to be extra sparkly this year, and my friends won’t complain about glitter because it doesn’t rub off!  Now isn’t that cool?

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for ordering your Stampin’ Up! supplies from me, I really appreciate your orders, and my customers as well!  Check out for more great Stampin’ Up! supplies too!

I’d love to see your creations using this new technique.. simply leave a comment and link your creation to this post!  Can’t wait to see all the lovely projects!

Sept 15th&16th Techniques Part II

RSVP by 5pm today to attend this fabulous technique class!!! Check yesterday’s post… the Jacobs’ Coat Technique if FAB!!

Of course the techniques class always features TWO techniques… one more complicated, and one simpler technique.  You leave with two samples… one for reference, and one mounted on a card.. now isn’t that cool?

Here is the second card/technique we will feature in this week’s class…  featuring the embossing folder wax resist technique…

sept_shares_pics 004

Of course, we had to use the ornament punch for it’s intended purpose (punching the delightful decorations stamps featured in the holiday mini catalog).  This is a really quick and fun technique, an excellent companion to the one featured in yesterday’s blog post…

Don’t forget to RSVP by 5pm today… two classes are offered 9/15 at 6pm and 9/16 at 11am.

It was a crazy day at the craft fair, thank you to all who stopped by, I truly enjoy meeting my readers!!

Sept 15th & 16th Techniques Class Sneak Peek

Techniques class is right around the corner… and you’re not going to want to miss this class!  As with most techniques classes, we will learn two techniques, and make two cards utilizing those techniques.

There are two techniques sessions offered one on the 15th at 6pm; and on the 16th at 11am.   YOU MUST RSVP by 5pm SUNDAY to reserve your spot in either session!

Here is one of the cards we will be making…

sept_shares_pics 012 Don’t you just love this technique??  My friend and fellow demo Susan Best showed this to me at our downline team meeting last month… WOW.. it was really fun.  Of course, I had read about this technique before, but honestly never gave it a second thought.  It’s so much fun to go to the downline meetings and see/learn new techniques and tips.. we meet at the Golden Corral Restaurant on Beach Boulevard monthly.  Working together as a TEAM, we expand our stamping knowledge and help each other grow a stampin’ up business which works for you!  Check out my calendar/events for the next meeting at my Stampin’ Up! website and online store HERE.

Remember I said TWO techniques?  Check back tomorrow to see the other technique we will learn during the class!

Tomorrow I will be at the Morocco Shrine Auditorium, please stop by and say hello… and take a picture with me.. just tell me you are one of my blog readers, and I’ll post our pictures next week!

Your comments are always appreciated, they truly inspire me to keep going, and creating…  and I read each and every one too!… I’m looking forward to reading your comments!  Thanks for stopping by!

The first share is a page created by Kim Moorehouse of Central Florida.  I’ve always been a fan of Kim’s work and submissions in my online groups… and this page was one of my favorites from last months’ swap.  (The recipe for Greek Tzatziki sounds absolutely delicious too!)

September 6x6 Recipe Swap Group

Have you ever participated in a recipe swap group?  Basically, we each make a pre-determined quantity of identical pages, mail them off to our coordinator, and receive as many pages back.  With the release of My Digital Software from Stampin’ Up!… You’ll be surprised that my Fall themed Page is done the good ‘ole fashioned way…  featuring the Autumn Days Stamp Set.

AA_Recipeswap349u-0u_sept09

The recipe is for Pumpkin Bread… something I used to make in great quantity every fall and winter… but these days we are all on diets, aren’t we?

Starting with the lightest color, the small maple leaf was stamped approximately 7 times around the edges of the recipe with more mustard ink.  Repeat with Pumpkin Pie, Dusty Durango, and Garden Green Ink.  The outside edge of the naturals ivory cardstock was then outlined with a gold paint pen.

You have probably heard all the hoop-la about the new Stampin’ Up My Digital Software… and probably wonder why you are viewing an old fashioned scrapbook page.  Since I ordered my software kind of late, it has not yet arrived… and although I am sure I will enjoy the wonderful simplicity of the new My Digital Software package.. I do enjoy making pages the ‘old fashioned way’ too!

A Quick Christmas Thank You Card for Kids

I know my teacher friends are really going to want this stamp!  It is called “Simple Seasonal Thanks” (item 111548 / $17.95) and is available through online ordering as of September 1st!  The sample is an un-signed swap I received at convention… so I don’t know who made it.. but wouldn’t this be quick and cute for the kids to color before Christmas, and then just fill in the blanks?

Delightful Decor… and a card

Now, who can truly resist a stamp with it’s own matching punch??  This stamp set is also found in the new Holiday Mini Catalog!  With seven images, and four coordinated with the punch, it’s a quick and clever combo for making your own very special Holiday Cards!

This card was made with a couple demo friends during a color throw down challenge… to use only Kraft, Bermuda Bay, Ruby Red, and Whisper White Cardstock.

Of course, we were in my wonderful stamp room surrounded by supplies… so I added linen thread, dimensionals, and dazzling diamonds to the finished card too… “Noel” was also borrowed from the Many Merry Messages Stamp Set.

After punching the ornament image, you can use it as a stencil template!  That is how the shaped/sponged ornaments were added to this card.. kind of neat, isn’t it.  The distressing tool was also used to distress the edge of the kraft cardstock.  I love that punch, and I’m sure you will too!

Stamp Set:  Delightful Decorations #116517/$21.95 / set of 7 images

Ornament Punch:  #116794 / $15.95

And of course, you can order these items and more in my online Stampin’ Up! Store!

I‘m working on more recipe pages, upcoming classes, and tons of new samples… Thanks for visiting!

Sweet Treats Share and a Surprise

Here we are at the beginning of the month… with a new Holiday Mini Catalog packed with 39 pages of delightful surprises and stamps.  When it cam time to order, I totally went overboard.. I love it all, and am quite sure YOU will too!!

One of the wonderful items in the mini catalog is the Sweet Treats Holiday Cups.  The cups are self adhesive, and align perfectly with the  Stampin’ Up! 1 3/4” circle punch, this one is filled with yummy M&M chocolate covered peanuts!

One question you may have is “but won’t they tear up my card?”.  There is a solution for that too!  Remember the sweet little perforator tool?  Simple cut a square of printer paper slightly larger than the 1 3/4” circle, but smaller than the stamped image… use the perforator tool to score from corner to corner and attach to the card.  Now the recipient can simply poke through the paper to reach the treats without destroying the card!!! Yeah!!

One clever demo even made a special pull-up slider window to release the candy from the card (now that was pretty clever!!)

We are trying to get back in the swing of things.. our DD did arrive safely in Germany and of course is enjoying herself tremendously.  Classes start on Monday.. so she has the weekend to explore and organize her stuff.  So here she is on the last day… I look terrible, fighting tears, but thought you’d want to see how excited she was!

I miss her dearly, and imagine my surprise when I arrived home to find a gift bag on her bed!  The bag was full of addressed and dated cards for us to open during the next month.  We opened the first one on Sept. 2nd.  Such a sweetie pie!  The next one is for Sept. 9th.. I can hardly wait (but I promised…) I look forward to reading each one as she shares her thoughts with us!
