What do the Top Note Die, a Hippo, and a Baby Have In Common...

Interesting question, huh?  Well, it's a card of course!  This is another card we did in today's Punchy Class.  The top note quilt (or half quilt) was inspired by a share from Nancy Dawson (Paper Dreams & Creative Wishes).  I always admire the cards Nancy shares in one of my online groups, and her card of course helped to inspire this card:

The 'quilt' was made from 1 1/4" squares of delicate dots DSP (FREE Sale-a-bration paper), affixed to a rectangle of whisper white card stock, and then cut out with a top note die.  You cannot really see it well in the picture, but texture plate 'quilting' was added too!

The Circle Scissors Plus was used to create a 2" circle from the Delicate Dots DSP for the hippo Body; the Designer Label Punch was used for his feet.... see I left part of the circular part of the punch to make his chubby little legs too!  The small oval punch was used for his ears, nose, and the upper part of his head, and the large oval punch for his mouth/cheeks.  I cut two scrap 'rectangles' for his teeth, and instead of layering punch after punchy for ears and toes... they were drawn on with a white Signo Gel Pen.  I used a small knot of 1/4" grosgrain for his curly cue tail too!

This card opens to the side, the first layer steps back about an inch from the back layer... and all right side corners were rounded with a corner rounder punch.

Everyone had a blast making this card... hope you like it too!  See you tomorrow!
