1st Wednesday Card Club Projects... Part 1 of 2

This month, for the 1st Wednesday Card Club, we made three cards instead of the typical two.  One of the cards was a bit more intense... so I had to balance it out with two simple cards.  Typically, card club participants rotate between tables to complete the projects so having three projects enabled me to better balance the 'down time' between table changes.

These are the two 'simple' projects we made.  The first was a simple card using the new scallop edge punch to make a special corner treatment:

Stamps:  God's Beauty (Hostess Level1)

Card Stock:  Almost Amethyst, Very Vanilla, Old Olive

Classic Ink:  Elegant Eggplant

Accessories:  Eyelet Border Punch, Elegant Eggplant Narrow Grosgrain Ribbon

The second card/project was a gift card holder made with our fabulous Stampin' Up! Note Cards and matching envelopes.  You've probably seen these gift card holders all over the web... they are generally tied shut with ribbon, or sport a belly band to keep them close.  They are self contained cards, and because of their unusual size, have no envelopes.  Here's a sample and video tutorial for one on Dawn Griffith's site Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.

I decided it would be nice to have a gift card holder with a matching envelope, so I simply adjusted the inside to the 3.5" x 5" note card.  Club members also decorated their envelopes to match.  Our card stock was cut 11.5" x 4/75" and scored at 3.25", 5.75", and 8.25".  The leaf image from "God's Beauty" was randomly stamped with Certainly Celery Classic Ink all over the Certainly Celery card stock, and then stamped a second time all around the edges with Always Artichoke Classic Ink.

Stamps:  God's Beauty (Hostess Level1)

Card Stock:  Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Whisper White

Classic Inks:  Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke

Accessories:  Wide Oval Punch, Sponge Daubers, Red Sticky Tape, Word Window Punch

Hope you enjoyed these projects... I'll be back tomorrow with the other card we made using the fun stamp set "Just Buzzin' By".

Beautiful cards that do not look too difficult to make several for gifts!
