Water Color Wash Winds of Grace

...More fun with Classic Ink Re-Inkers from Stampin' Up!

This was one of the techniques we did at last weeks' Techniques Class... for lack of a better word or description, I'll call it a watercolor wash background.  We created this beautiful horizon which was just perfect for using with the Winds Of Grace Stamp Set (#109232 4 pieces, $19.95), featuring a lighthouse, sailboat, verse, and waves/clouds/mountain image.

Here, we used white embossing powder and versamark to make both waves and clouds on our glossy cardstock.  Wetting a broad watercolor brush in plain old tap water, we then 'picked up' a spot of bashful blue reinker and quickly brushed back and forth across the cardstock... rinsing the brush and repeating and building layers with the same quick strokes and tempting turquoise, almost amethyst, and pixie pink reinker 2 seconds each.. really!  You don't want to do it 'perfect'.. the white spots left on your cardstock will be additional wave and cloud fragments, giving it a more realistic appearance!

So... here is the finished card... embossing the lovely sailboat (I love to sail!) with whisper white detail embossing powder and turning it into a simple yet elegant card.. and SUPER QUICK TOO!
